The Amarillo Area Bar Association is seeking a part-time Executive Director to serve as the administrative backbone of our organization. This is a flexible, part-time position (approximately 15-20 hours per week), with compensation commensurate with experience.

The Executive Director plays a vital role in supporting the Bar’s mission, officers, and members.

Key responsibilities include:

• Financial Oversight: Make deposits, prepare invoices, coordinate with CPA for tax returns and financials, and ensure timely payment of bills.
• Event Coordination: Plan monthly luncheons (including CLE accreditation), assist with the annual Spring Institute, and support the AABF Wine Dinner (held every other year).
• Communication & Outreach: Maintain the AABA website, manage mailing and email lists, and coordinate AMA-LAW content.
• Board Support: Work closely with the AABA President to prepare for board meetings, track minutes, and assist with onboarding new board members.
• Membership Management: Send annual dues notices, update the membership directory, and send invoices for enhanced website profiles.

The role requires proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, MailChimp, and familiarity with basic website content management.

Office hours are flexible, generally Monday through Thursday, with lighter hours in the summer. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys being connected to the local legal community.

We know we’re a little late posting this… but better late than never! This year, the Amarillo Area Bar Association (“AABA”) held a March Madness Tournament—and we have a champion!

Congratulations to the Honorable Judy Parker for taking the win!

The trophy is something special: handcrafted and donated by Paul Yarbrough, with custom plaques made by the Honorable Steve Denny. It will be passed on each year to the winner—so make sure you fill out your bracket next year for a shot at AABA glory (and the trophy bragging rights)!

Help us congratulate Justice Parker on her well-earned victory!
