Parents and Guardians,
Due to forecasted severe weather and hazardous road conditions, all RRISD campuses will be CLOSED tomorrow, January 23.
The safety of our students, families, and staff is our top priority. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure everyone's safety.
Please stay home, stay safe, and avoid unnecessary travel.
We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any updates through our usual channels.
Stay safe and warm, Wildcats.
Sincerely,
River Road ISD

River Road ISD Leader Named Region 16 TEPSAN of the Year

Arely Diaz, Principal of Willow Vista Early Child Academy in River Road ISD, has been named the 2026 Region 16 TEPSAN of the Year by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). Each year, members from the 20 TEPSA Regions throughout the state recognize a colleague for their exemplary service to the association. Recipients of this award must show a strong commitment to advancing the principalship and advocating for Texas PK-8 students and educators. Honorees will be recognized at the Legacy Leaders Celebration, Monday, June 8 at the Round Rock Kalahari.

“We are proud to recognize Arely’s outstanding contributions to our Association,” said TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart. “Members like Arely are the backbone of our organization, playing a pivotal role in shaping its direction and ensuring its success. Their active participation and innovative ideas help us build a robust network, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change within our community.”

TEPSA, whose hallmark is educational leaders learning with and from each other, has served Texas PK-8 school leaders since 1917. Member-owned and member-governed, TEPSA has more than 5,900 members who direct the activities of more than 3 million PK-8 school children. Learn more at www.tepsa.org.
