Behind every new CHW is an instructor who prepared them for the work.

This week we honor the Community Health Worker Instructors (CHWIs) supporting VIBRANT MOMS:

These instructors train, mentor, and hold the standard for a workforce that families trust. They help CHWs build the skills to educate, advocate, navigate systems, and stand with moms before, during, and after pregnancy.

💛 This week is National Community Health Worker Awareness Week.

Community Health Workers — CHWs, also known as promotores de salud — are trusted neighbors who connect families to care, resources, and information.

At VIBRANT MOMS, they walk with moms across the Texas Panhandle. They help families understand preeclampsia risk, navigate Medicaid and insurance, and find support during and after pregnancy.

Celebrating Our Community Health Workers
We celebrated our Community Health Workers today during lunch!
Our CHWs play such an important role in Texas Tech’s research and efforts to expand maternal health services and strengthen the CHW model throughout the Texas Panhandle.
Community Health Workers build bridges between healthcare, social services, and the communities they serve. They connect families to resources, help break down barriers, and make sure community voices are heard.
We are so grateful for the dedication, compassion, and impact our CHWs bring to our communities every day! 💜🎊🎉👏🏽
