Scout's Street Smart Rescue Scout's Street Smart Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit rescue. My name is Wendy Patterson. I am the founder of Scout’s Street Smart Rescue in Amarillo, TX.

When I moved to Amarillo in 2018, I was absolutely shocked at the amount of homeless, abandoned, owner-surrendered, and injured dogs and puppies. The numbers were, and still are, staggering. My mission is two-fold. One, to rescue and to get these animals’ immediate needs met. Their needs range anywhere from immediate medical intervention to getting fosters lined up. So, when they’re ready, they ca

n be placed in their approved adoptive homes. Secondly, my mission is to go into our community to provide basic health care needs. I will provide Parvo Distemper shots, Bordetella shots, and microchips and I will try to educate the community as much as possible, by providing educational pet health and welfare materials. My goal is to continue recruiting volunteers and team leaders in all areas, based on statistical needs. Scout’s Street Smart Rescue will be one of the leading, progressive rescues in the Panhandle. I have no doubts. We are truly committed to assisting the community by helping to address the needs of its residents. I am determined and designed to be part of the solution.

This is the infamous Annie

The Martin Road Ballpark - Frankfurter 😂

She eluded many for a little over two weeks. Thanks to Bonnie Hancock Leslie Metzig and Scout's Street Smart Rescue we were finally able to wrangle this gal and get her to safety.

Considering it was Bonnie's 14 Wedding Anniversary - Annie became her name. 🎉🍾

TeamWork is DreamWork.....

She is with a foster on her throne and enjoying some much needed decompression and rest. Basically she is getting spoiled. 💎👑

We are headed to the vet tomorrow and could use some help with donations. She will receive exam, monoclonal antibody, B12 and f***l.

Happy Tails, Daisy! 💚

Formerly known as Batgirl, this sweet girl has officially headed off to her forever home!

Daisy’s new family sounds absolutely perfect for her. Her mom is home most of the time, and with two teenagers wrapping up the school year and heading into summer break, she’ll have plenty of love, attention, and adventures ahead. Even better, she now has a canine sibling who absolutely adores other dogs.

The best part? Daisy and her new doggy sister hit it off instantly. Within minutes of meeting, they were running, playing, and having the time of their lives together. We have a feeling these two are going to be the very best of friends and make countless memories together.

After waiting for her perfect match, Daisy found exactly where she belongs, and we couldn’t be happier for her and her wonderful new family.

Congratulations, Daisy! We can’t wait to watch your happily-ever-after unfold. 🐾🐶🏡

April our tripod GP mix is in search of a soft place to land for 4 weeks.

She is fine with dogs her size but Lil dogs annoy her because of being tripod. She just needs a calm place with no cats.

She is a great gal. She is the one that was gored and had a horrific infection.

She is happy and healthy and loves life. Help her get to her forever home by loving her for 4 weeks.

Wolfie has officially headed off to his forever home 💚🐾

His new family was so excited to come meet and adopt him. They are longtime adopters who have rescued dogs over the years and absolutely adore their animals. Being retired means they are home most of the time, so their pups are spoiled with plenty of love, outside time, walks, pool days, comfy matching beds, and all the attention they could want.

Wolfie is joining a wonderful home with his new doggie brother, two doggie sisters, and will complete their family perfectly. While it’s just two adults in the home day to day, their children and grandchildren visit often, so he’ll have lots of extra love, attention, and visitors to keep life fun and social.

He is already so loved, and we could not be happier for him. Congratulations, Wolfie 🎉
