First, we want to say THANK YOU!
We are incredibly grateful for the amazing volunteers who are already giving their time, energy, and hearts to our LifeWise students. You show up, serve faithfully, love these kids, and help make it possible for them to hear the Gospel and grow in God's Word.
We see you. We appreciate you. And we thank God for you.
But we need more people willing to join them.
Our LifeWise program needs volunteers!
As the Church, we say we want change. We say we want to make disciples. We say we want to be Kingdom-minded.
But sometimes our actions tell a different story.
If people can't see Jesus in us, why would they go looking for
Jesus through us?
We have asked for help, and so far, there has been little response. And Jesus warned us that the need for workers would be great:
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
— Matthew 9:37
Here's the part that's hard to say...
Golf courses are full.
Movie theaters are full.
Restaurants are full.
Ladies' groups are full.
Men's groups are full.
Our calendars are full.
And many of those are good things. There's nothing wrong with enjoying life, spending time with friends, sharing a meal, or playing a round of golf.
But when there are children in our own community who have an opportunity to hear the Gospel and grow in God's Word—and our answer is that we don't have time to help—we need to be willing to ask ourselves some hard questions.
What are we willing to rearrange our lives for?
We know a message like this may make some people uncomfortable. Our intent is not to make anyone angry or to place guilt on anyone.
It's to challenge ourselves, as believers, to examine our priorities in light of what Scripture calls us to do.
Jesus did not say,
“Go therefore and make disciples
when it's convenient.”
He said:
“Go therefore and make disciples...”
— Matthew 28:19
There are children in our community who want to learn about Jesus and grow in His Word.
The harvest is ready.
The question is:
Who is willing to go?
If God may be calling you to give some of your time to these children, we would love to talk with you about becoming a LifeWise volunteer.
