DEDICATED TO KEEPING OUR BEACHES SAFE
East End Ocean Rescue (EEOR) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide the most effective lifesaving equipment, techniques and educational materials possible, so residents and vacationers alike can enjoy our world famous beaches safely and with confidence. Jimmy Minardi founded EEOR 14 years ago from an inherent need he saw for additional water
safety education and available resources that would decrease rescue response times and further help to save lives along the East End's beautiful beaches that overflow with vacationers each summer. His father belonged to the Fire Island Ocean Rescue in the 50s and 60s and he has been an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard since 1979. In 1998 he created a volunteer ocean rescue model that is now called East Hampton Town Ocean Rescue. He was a pool, lake and bay lifeguard, and an American Red Cross swimming and lifesaving instructor. In college he ran a “Water Babies” program to help pay for his degree. Sean Daly, Co-President
Sean is also a long time lifeguard, a member of East Hampton Town Volunteer Ocean Rescue, and a NYPD officer on the Scuba Search and Rescue Squad. Both are incredibly passionate about the need to protect and educate the community about water safety and practice. They take East End Ocean Rescue’s non-profit status seriously. EEOR was set up as a private non-profit organization to be independent of politics, bureaucracy and committees. EEOR attorney, William Fleming, donates his time to make sure our i’s are dotted and the t's crossed to ensure that the foundation is legally secure. All serve without salary.
