In April of 2016 we purchased a Peruvian Paso mare from a kill pen in Louisiana. When my transport arrived to pick her up I got a call. “Mam, are you sure you want me to transport these horses to Iowa? I’m not sure they will make the trip. They are skin and bones.” I told him to load them up and bring them home to the ranch. Nothing good was going to happen if they stayed where they were. Both girls came very sick. The vet was out, we ended up giving antibiotics and everyday we would pray they would make it another day. Olivia, a gaited mare put her weight on and we decided to rehome her. Sophia, the Peruvian Paso we kept. You can see how beautiful she is today. God is the great redeemer!
