Soroptimist International of Alvin is now accepting applications for funding from Brazoria County organizations that support the wellbeing of women and children in our community.
To request an application packet, contact Jody Droege at 281-331-3172 or email [email protected].
Completed applications must be received by Friday, May 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
Grant recipients will be invited to attend our annual End-of-Year Luncheon in June.

✨ Inspiring Speakers at Today’s Soroptimist Meeting ✨

We had the privilege of hearing from two incredible organizations making a meaningful impact in our communities 💙

First, we welcomed Isaiah 117 House, with Heidi Scherer sharing their powerful mission of changing the way foster care begins. We are thrilled to celebrate that they have officially reached their goal of securing a full year’s budget—an incredible milestone that brings them one step closer to opening their doors! 🎉

With 39 homes already open across the United States, their impact continues to grow. A local ribbon-cutting is coming soon, and there are so many ways to get involved—through volunteering, hosting lemonade stands or golf tournaments, or becoming a “Bin Buddy.”

We also heard from Adria Women’s Health, presented by Executive Director Carey Donnelly. This Christian ministry is dedicated to protecting and defending the sanctity of all human life, both born and unborn.

Located in Texas City, they offer monthly tours every third Wednesday from 9–10 AM and provide opportunities to get involved through mentorship, prayer, service, and giving. They also host three annual fundraisers: a gala, bingo, and a baby bottle campaign.
