It is with tremendous sadness that the Alvin Police Officers Association mourns the passing of Brazoria County Justice of the Peace Judge Richard Davis, Precinct 2, Place 2.

Judge Davis was much more than a judge to the men and women of law enforcement who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a familiar face, a friend, and a steadfast supporter of those who serve and protect our communities.

Whether we saw Judge Davis out in public, welcomed him into our detention facility for arraignments, or simply had the pleasure of him stopping by to say hello, he always greeted us with a smile, a kind word, and genuine respect. Those seemingly small moments meant a great deal to our officers and Police Department staff, and they are memories we will carry with us.

Judge Davis dedicated many years of his life to serving the citizens of Brazoria County, and his impact extended far beyond his duties as a Judge. He understood the difficult job performed by law enforcement officers and consistently showed his support and appreciation for the men and women behind the badge.

Today, Brazoria County lost a dedicated public servant, law enforcement lost a true friend and supporter, and so many of us lost someone we genuinely looked forward to seeing.

On behalf of the entire membership of the Alvin Police Officers Association, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Judge Davis’ family, friends, court staff, colleagues, and everyone whose life he touched.

Thank you for your years of service, your friendship, and your unwavering support of law enforcement, Judge Davis. You will truly be missed.

Rest in peace, Judge. We’ll take it from here. 🇺🇸💙

The Alvin Police Officers Association would like to extend our sincere appreciation to T&L Lease Service for their generous donation of materials and the fabrication of a new am******on storage cabinet for our department’s range.

Mr. Houston Martin, Mr. Travis Jones and the employees of T&L continue to be tremendous supporters of the Alvin Police Department and our members. Their continued generosity and willingness to support the men and women of APD do not go unnoticed, and we are extremely grateful for all they do for us.

We would also like to recognize and thank Texan Powder Coat, owned by Mr. Holden Wallace, along with Mr. Derek Harmon, for generously donating their services and materials to professionally powder coat the new am******on storage cabinet. Their contribution not only gave the cabinet a great finished appearance but, more importantly, will help protect it from rust and the elements and ensure it serves our department for many years to come.

On behalf of the entire Alvin Police Officers Association, thank you to T&L Lease Service, Texan Powder Coat, Houston, Travis, Holden, and Derek for your generosity, craftsmanship, and continued support of our officers and our department.

We are incredibly fortunate to have local businesses and individuals who continually step up to support the men and women who serve our community. Your support is noticed, valued, and sincerely appreciated!

THANK YOU, ALVIN CITY COUNCIL!

On behalf of the Alvin Police Officers Association and our membership, we would like to sincerely thank Councilwoman Davis, Councilwoman DeKyzer, Councilman Garivey, Councilman Salter, Councilman Vela, Councilman Moore, and Councilman Vaughn for their unanimous support and vote to approve the pay scale presented by the APOA.

Over the past several months, our Association has worked diligently through the collective bargaining process to address inconsistencies within our pay structure, improve our competitiveness with surrounding agencies, and develop a plan that supports the recruitment and retention of quality police officers while remaining fiscally responsible to our community.

Thursday nights unanimous vote was more than an investment in a pay scale, it was an investment in the men and women who serve and protect the City of Alvin every day.

We sincerely appreciate Council taking the time to listen to our concerns, review the information and data presented, and ultimately support our officers.

Our membership does not take that support for granted.

To our Mayor and City Council: thank you for listening, thank you for your support, and thank you for investing in the men and women of the Alvin Police Department and the future of public safety in our community.
