Type of meal is announced at the prior meeting to members. In February, 1906, J.C. Myers, Secretary of Goshen Lodge #503 was requested to inquire of the Order of Eastern Star Grand Chapter about forming an O.E.S. Chapter at Alvaton. Myers received a letter from Dr. Rob Morris, founder of the Order, with the necessary requirements, one being at least 15 potential members but not more than 20. The A

lvaton Chapter was instituted under Dispensation by the Bowling Green Chapter #128 on April 5, 1913. The Chapter voted to change the name from Alvaton to Goshen at a stated meeting on October 18, 1913. Sister Nannie Sherry made her report from Grand Chapter and presented the Chapter with its Charter "Goshen #198" on November 15, 1913. Goshen met with Halfway Chapter and Drake Chapter on several occasions for inspections and initiations for several months. Goshen Chapter has served the Order of the Eastern Star with Worthy Grand Patron, Grand Officers, Grand Representatives, Deputy Grand Matrons and Patrons, and currently the Associate Grand Matron.
