We were founded in July 2012 when we were given the opportunity to help a family in need. We were honored to do a fundraiser with the help of Domino's Pizza in Alvarado to pay for 16 year old Allen Stanfiled's funeral. Allen was killed in a car wreck on his way to work on June 30, 2012. His birthday was July 4th, so Lynsey Mayfield and Alahna Baze rallied a group of girls to organize and hold a ba
ke sale and a balloon release at midnight to sing happy birthday to Allen and shoot off fireworks! What an amazing event it was for the kids and for Allen's mama, who also works for Domino's!! Thanks to Tara Moreno, Taylor Moreno, Grace Cherry, Stephanie Jarvis, and Amber Fuentez!! Allen worked at Domino's Pizza and he was home schooled, so he didn't really know a lot of the kids in Alvarado. Not a problem for these girls! We baked and we baked and we baked! Stood in the rain, flagging anyone who would stop and donate! The end result was within less than a week the funeral was paid for, nearly 100 people attended the balloon release, and lives were changed!!! After realizing how good it felt to help a family in need, there was no other option but to found PUSH! Alvarado has the most giving, loving people who jumped when call of duty arose! Then we realized the impact that we could have on lives! WE were able to get a community to care for a boy they didn't know and his family that was in devastation! Since that time, we have implemented a respite program for the parents of medically fragile children, pledged a commitment to standing against bullying, at all levels, are holding Movie Night at the Park to raise money, clothes, and school supplies for the kids in Alvarado, and have many other plans in progress! We are currently working on becoming a non-profit organization. A big part of our work is to spread PUSH! groups into the surrounding communities and schools - we have had very positive feedback! We are not associated with the school district, we are simply students on a mission to change our communities and leave them a better place to be a part of! So, tell your friends and spread the word! If you're interested in helping out, just shoot us a message or give us a call! We are very proud of our respite program! We provide "Date Night" for loving, committed parents who simply cannot afford to have a night of fun! Date Night includes dinner, movie, nursing care for the child, babysitting for siblings, and DOMINO's PIZZA!!! See our pics and tell your friends! These parents deserve and need a care-free night!!!! Thank you and look forward to hearing from you all! Alahna Baze
