We’re excited to welcome Neil Bjorklund presenting “The Butterfly Sleuth” a closer look at how to find and identify butterflies in the field.

Whether you’re new to butterfly watching or have been at it for years, this is a great opportunity to learn, connect, and share your curiosity with others.

Lane County Butterfly Club cleaned up our section of Adopt-A-Highway today! It was a bit dreary weather but we got a few bags full and checked on the milkweed patch! There’s plenty of pods and seeds about, very healthy patch!

The Silver-spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus) is one of the most easily recognized skippers in North America, known for the bright silver patch on the underside of its hindwing. With a fast, darting flight and a preference for open woodlands, roadsides, and gardens, it’s often seen feeding on a wide variety of flowers!

Yesterday, we completed the 40th Annual Metolius Butterfly Count, led by the wonderful Sue Anderson 🦋 Huge thanks to everyone who came out to participate and an even bigger thank you to Sue for her incredible dedication and passion for butterflies!
