1st Florida Top Hands is always looking for new members!

Think you have what it takes?
Maybe you've been on a drill team before?

Either way this is what we look for in members:
*Positive Attitudes, works well with others, and willingness to help!
*Drive and Dedication - our team practices a few Friday evenings & Saturday mornings. Punctuality and attendance is what creates a strong ready to go team. Alot of performances or events will be Saturdays as well. We do understand the occasional emergencies or ill days!
*Strong equine riding ability. Drill teams leave no room for mistakes all members must be able to navigate their horse, bee comfortable and/or become comfortable riding in close quarters alongside other horse and rider members. We absolutely take safety seriously.
*Ability to pay insurance dues & purchase team items like tack, clothing, or other items. As we grow, earn sponsors, and host events we will grow team funds helping members with these items plus using these funds to pay yearly insurance fees.
*Creativity! We like to come up with fun equine games and more patterns to keep our followers and crowd engaged.

GET READY FOR THIS!

March 21st @ 3:00pm us 1st Florida Top Hands will be making our way to Black Horse Resort Ranch for an incredible opportunity to perform at their Best of America by Horseback event.

After our drill performance demo, Danielle the owner of Black Horse will do a 15-minute memorial presentation with one of her famous black horses in memory of her late Mother JoAnn - the founder of the ranch. This presentation will include her mare (horse) taking a lap around the arena with JoAnn's saddle.

Top Hands will reemerge to get back into the arena with Cliff and the Shadow Riders for a Cowboy Shootout Show!

We are absolutely honored to be a part of this and receive such an amazing invitation from Black Horse Ranch and The Shadow Riders.

Come show off your skills with 1st Florida Top Hands rodeo drill team at our very first fundraiser show at the Florida Equine Center LLC - Formerly known as L Cross. All proceeds will go to our team for team expenses so we can keep building!
8am On Site Registration Starts / Games Start at 9am

Pre-Registration will be announced soon!

Enjoy barrels, hurry scurry, and 3 barrel twist. Earn ribbons and prizes while also hearing great live music by Nolia and the Ramblers + Dan Flick. But we did not stop there... BBQ will be available for purchase 11am-2pm so you can refuel and go faster to place #1 in whatever events you pick!

7 Age Divisions:
Lead Line (all ages) - "pick from a bucket" prizes

Teen (12-14)

Super Senior (50 & up)

We chased trains and put on a show this weekend out at Kirby Farms 6 Gun Territory!

6 members charged and did fun little tricks for all the visitors taking the train ride. When the robbery of the train was done we then greeted all the train riders to pet our horses along with Don Maines with his horse!

What a great weekend to camp and play cowboys/cowgirls. 🤠🐎

Hey everyone! As many are becoming aware of the 1st Florida Top Hands drill team we would like to formally introduce!

We are similar to long established teams like 1st Colorado Top Hands and Ohio Top Hands formed by Ginger Patrick. Just starting here in January members Sherry Orr and Kimberly Veilleux have vowed to step in to build this team and keep it going. Ginger has happily pursued staying with family back in Ohio!

Currently, there are 7 members: Sherry, Kim, Dan, Donna, Jayce, Nicole and Dylanna with a few standby members! Our goal this year is to atleast build to a team of 10. Not only are we hungry for performances at local rodeos but we also join volunteer days at Camp Boggy Creek giving pony rides to kids with terminally ill diagnoses and other life changing diagnoses/born disabilities. As well as parades! Practices are held at Fiddlers Green Ranch in Altoona, FL. New members are always welcome! If you are ever interested and want to know requirements to be a member please send us a message!

February 6th-8th you can see us chasing trains and greeting all at Kirby Farms 6 Gun Territory
