Eastern Polk Quilters Guild The Eastern Polk Quilters’ Guild meets monthly to advance our members’ knowledge and enjoyment of quilts and quilting. Dues are $40annually (Jan-Dec).

The meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at the Lutheran Church of the Cross at 1701 8th St SW, in Altoona. The meeting begins at 7:00 pm and includes a short business meeting, show and tell, and a program or speaker. Meeting refreshments are supplied by a membership committee. Meeting Day and Time: 3rd Monday of the month

7pm

The first Saturday of the month from 9 am to 3 pm is an open sew day at the same location. Bring your own projects and work on them while you chat with other quilters. You do not need to be a member to come and sew with us.

Guild Meeting Monday August 17 at 7:00. Our guest speaker is Terri Vanden Bosch. She is a designer, quilt maker and long arm quilter. The creative journey started in the 5th grade with making a pair of pj’s using antique feed sacks of her great grandmother. Decades later, the sewing machine is still her best friend, assisting her in the pursuit of trying new things along with perfecting the old.

In her “spare” time, she works with her husband on their Iowa farm. When not helping him, planning the next motorcycle adventure or spoiling their grandchildren, she will be found in the studio cooking up something new for you!!!

Come along for the joy of it. Let's make something beautiful today!!

The guild is celebrating its 25th Anniversary on June 15 at 6:30 pm at Lutheran Church of the Cross. It's hard to believe that is 25 years of stitching friendships and quilts. The inaugural members have been invited to join us. For fun, we are requesting that you make a dish from the guild's cookbook to share. Desert will be provided. Help us Celebrate 25 years Stitching Together Quilts and Friendships.
