💗𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗸!🎀 Child Advocates of Blair County - CABC staff showed up in pink for our first employee Spirit Day of the program year in support of 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵! 💗 From pink shirts to pink accessories, our team helped paint the program pink while raising awareness for a cause that touches so many lives.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the CABC staff members who felt moved to make a donation in honor or in memory of someone affected by breast cancer. 💗 100% of donations received will go directly to Girls Night Out Altoona Inc., whose mission is to educate women about breast cancer, promote early detection, provide financial assistance for screenings and treatments, and support local healthcare providers and cancer research.

🎗️ 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? An estimated 324,580 people in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026, including more than 321,000 women and 2,600 men. Early detection through recommended screenings can help find breast cancer when it is easier to treat, making awareness and routine screenings so important. 💕

Child Advocates of Blair County - CABC was represented by Aimee, Human Resource Specialist, as a volunteer at the 14th Annual Operation Our Town Golf Tournament, held September 14–15 at Park Hills Country Club in Altoona.

CABC sincerely thanks Operation Our Town and its generous donors for their continued support and investment in our community. We are proud to be a recipient of grant funding through Operation Our Town, which helps make a meaningful difference for the children and families we serve.

🚨 Head Start could look 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 under the proposed changes to its federal standards.

🏛️ Head Start families, programs and advocates are gathering on 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 to highlight what’s at stake for children, families and communities.

📣 The proposal would 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 the federal standards that guide Head Start programs and could mean:

On September 23 at 10:00 a.m., the Pennsylvania Head Start Association is hosting a special conversation specifically for community partners around the recently released NPRM impacting Head Start.

💬 We will talk through what is happening, why it matters, and how community partners can lend their voices during this important moment.

Blair County Head Start was one of 21 recipients awarded grant funding from Operation Our Town for the 2026-27 year. This year, funding will be used to support fatherhood and male engagement initiatives through a program wide kick-off event this fall. We'd like to thank Operation Our Town for their continued support of Child Advocates of Blair County - CABC and the Blair County Head Start program and for their investment in strengthening young children and families across Blair County!
