Great opportunity for anyone interested in starting an adaptive golf program in your community!

Don't Wait – As a reminder, the Iowa Golf Association, IGA Foundation, and Iowa Adaptive Golf Association are partnering to provide a workshop that will help coaches become confident in giving golf instruction to people with physical & cognitive challenges. We will review how to safely and effectively use adaptive equipment. In the afternoon, you will experience self-adaptations across different scenarios to help you gain first-hand knowledge and experience.

The workshop will take place at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona, on Monday, March 30, and there is still room to attend. The cost ($30) includes lunch and snacks during the day.

9 PDR points for PGA of America members are available. Other education credits will be available pending approval.

The Iowa Golf Association is NOW taking registrations for the 2026 Iowa Adaptive Open Championship.
The event will be held at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona, IA July 10-12. There will be a scramble fundraiser on Friday afternoon with the two-day competition running Saturday and Sunday.
This year we will not have the hotel issue we faced last year with the Indy Car race in town. There will be a block of rooms for the event reserved at our title sponsor- Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino - approx 5 minutes from the golf course.
We look forward to seeing all our past players and hopefully see several new players at this inclusive and friendly tournament.

Great job Iowa Golf Association! Building for the future!

History made – The Iowa Golf Association (IGA), known for hosting some of the state’s premier golf tournaments, reached a historic milestone this past weekend. In partnership with the Iowa Amputee Golf Association (IAGA), the IGA proudly presented the inaugural Prairie Meadows Iowa Adaptive Open Championship, held at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona over the weekend.

Last night at our annual banquet, three of our 2025 scholarship recipients were present to accept their awards, all pictured with Cory Watson, IAGA Board President, along with Steve Husome, Treasurer.

1. Kinnick Van Ginkel- the first recipient of the Tony Webb Memorial Scholarship award.
2- Jaylee Karnes
3- Josie Thompson (pictured is her grandfather accepting hers on her behalf)

We started our scholarship program in 1998 and have since then given away thousands of dollars to students.

Due to the extreme weather here in Altoona the past couple of days we are changing the championship to 27 holes. We will play 9 holes this evening starting with the first group at 5:00PM. The original schedule for Sunday remains the same.
We have changed the time of the banquet to 3:00PM. Please make plans to attend the luncheon as we have some great door prizes and everyone will walk away with something great. We draw names of every participant and they get first dibs on anything on the prize table! Golf bags, a new Ping 430 Max driver, Titleist Vokey wedge, coolers, a Blackstone griddle, and many many more cool items to choose from so don’t miss it! See you at 3:00PM at Terrace Hills Golf Course!

Tomorrow’s schedule:

10A: PING rep available for club fittings
10:30A: Registration opens
11:45A: Gather near clubhouse for announcements
12P: Shotgun start
Roughly 4P: Scramble concludes, social hour with pizza buffet and other light snacks with drinks to follow
5P: Awards

When you arrive, carts will be stationed outside of the proshop and each cart will be labeled with the team name, players, and starting hole.

Boxed lunches are provided prior to tee off.
