Reduce, Recycle, REUSE! ♻

Join us for Visible Mending, a one-day workshop focused on bringing new life back to those old favorites. Bring in a pair of jeans, a beloved sweater, or a hole-y scarf (or any item!) and we'll teach you how to use a handful of materials (floss, needle, fabric patch, and possibly an embroidery hoop) to renew your pieces and make them even better. 🪡

Just over one week left to submit your artwork for Ghost Stories: The Art of Oddities!

Jacoby Arts Center and the Troy Taylor's American Oddities Museum invite all 2D and 3D media artists to submit work to this juried exhibition exploring visual interpretations of ghost stories, folklore, and urban legends!

Presented in the Jacoby Arts Center Community Gallery at 208 State Street from September 26th - October 31st, 2026.

Artists are encouraged to submit images inspired by individuals' interpretations of the tales of ghost stories, hauntings, history, urban legends, and folklore involving the Riverbend region as well as globally. Artists may submit any 2D artwork including, but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, original digital drawings (no Ai work will be accepted) and 3D artwork such as: fibers, sculpture, and ceramics.

We are seeking volunteers for our OMA program this Fall!

OMA stands for Opening Minds Through Art and is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art making program for people living with dementia.

People living with dementia (Artists) are paired with Volunteers who are trained to rely on imagination instead of memory and focus on remaining strengths instead of lost skills. OMA enables people living with dementia to assume new roles as artists and teachers and leave a legacy of beautiful artwork.

THERE IS NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Jacoby provides all training you only need to come with an open heart and a willingness to hold space for our participating Artists. Interested? Please be available from 10am-12pm on 9/12 for training and 9/19, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, and 11/14 for program participants.
