Day 3 and the final day of the "Out in Nature with 4-H" day camp.
It has been such a blast seeing the youth learn about nature and how to protect it these last few days and the friendships that have blossomed 💚
Today Smokey Bear and Abby Trantham came and talked with the kids about Fire Safety and got some neat items.
Dustin Kirkpatrick and the Oregon County Ambulance staff came out and taught the kids some basic first aid tips and let them sit in the ambulance.
We then had lunch thanks to Hunter and Ms. Denise Jett for cooking up some hot dogs.
Some of our youth led the others in some games, we made lanterns, s'mores and had a water balloon fight.
We had a great time!!
Thank you to Vital Farms for this opportunity to provide this day camp to the youth of Oregon County!!!

Our 2nd day of "Out in Nature with 4-H" day camp.
We talked about pollinators and the benefits of having them around.
We made some butterfly sun catchers, decorated wood bees and received some great literature from the Missouri Dept. of Conservation on butterflies, wild flowers, insects and even some wild flower seeds.
We also learned the waggle dance that bees do 😁
Thank you to all the youth who have come and participated and to the volunteers that have taken time out of their day to help with this program 💚

Our first day of "Out in Nature with 4-H" camp was a success!!!
We heard Ms. Riyyah's presentation on birds, made bird houses, bird feeders, trail mix and started our journals.
Missouri Dept. of Conservation gave us some wonderful books on birds (along with other things we'll share during the week) and some lanyards that we used today. Thank you Mrs. Abby Trantham for bringing them to us !!

Reminder that trap/shotgun practice is this evening at 5:30pm at the Hamlin's home.
Shooting Sports will provide the clays and one round of ammo for each participant.
