Another child (Kaiden) was filled with the Holy Ghost today!! It was a first for me to hear a child go from speaking in tongues to singing in tongues and not miss a beat!!!

The children in the group photo were all filled with the Holy Ghost within the last four months.

Black history IS American History. Today’s discussion in light of the death of civil rights icon Jesse Jackson: Who was Jesse Jackson? Students were shocked that someone from the civil rights era died just today as if civil rights was something that happened in a faraway time. (They are also shocked to learn that MLK’s daughter still lives.) Students learned about the differences between a democracy and authoritarianism and which countries operated in each. Then they came up with their own scenarios of how it’s supposed to be living in a democracy vs living in an authoritarian government. They nailed it.

Today’s chapel:

I’m thoroughly enjoying giving my students an apprenticeship in prayer!! Teaching them how to read the scriptures and not just believe but to receive the promises of God in prayer!! Today, they all received calendars to mark down the scripture they read each morning and that they talked to God when they arise in the morning. Learning to be disciplined in any area requires accountability. They are learning in chapel how to be accountable themselves to God and that they can talk to God about anything!!

Teaching my students how to conduct individual personal Bible studies during a chapel last week. They will win souls for Christ’s kingdom. This activity incorporates and develops tools such as research, reading, comprehension, following instructions, strong verbal and reflective listening skills, leadership, and team work.

So many awesome things are happening at GVCS!! We have a French teacher!! Brother Jerome, who received the Holy Ghost at Bethesda of Alton and who was a teacher in Haiti previously, is now teaching at GVCS and the excitement of our students is through the roof!! Welcome Brother Jerome!!
