Hey RP Community! 🇺🇸 We’ve got two opportunities this month to serve, connect, and strengthen our veteran community:

🛠️ Volunteer Day — Sunday, August 23rd
📍 Cottage Hills VFW
⏰ Muster at 0900
Join us as we roll up our sleeves and support the VFW with hands‑on volunteer work. Bring your energy, your heart for service, and a willingness to make an impact.Stay for an hour or stay for the day. Any contribution is appreciated.

🗣️ Veteran Focus Group — Friday, August 28
📍 Wood River Library
⏰ Start time: 0900
Free coffee, donuts, and/or bagels provided. This is a chance for veterans to share experiences, needs, and ideas directly with our team and Madison County Mental Health Board officials.

They’re great for building routine, reducing stress, and adding a little joy to your homestead.

Our volunteers love talking tips and tricks on coop setup, choosing hardy breeds, and keeping your flock healthy year‑round. It’s easier than you think — and incredibly rewarding.

Just be sure to check your local ordinances before ordering those adorable chicks from Tractor Supply. They’re cute… but they’re not always legal.

A little behind‑the‑scenes from the Northern Illinois Joining Forces Summit. Our crew linked up with our friends at IJF and a bunch of incredible nonprofits doing real work in their communities.

We swapped stories, shared ideas, and walked away with new connections and fresh motivation to keep pushing forward for the people we serve.
Always good to be in rooms where everyone is pulling in the same direction.
