Hi, my name is Paul, and my cohort is Kella. Since 2014, the Cherry Street Cat Colony has given love and care to as many as 30 outside stray cats at a time, providing food, shelter from the elements, and veterinary care. We are two senior Alton neighbors who have financially supported the cat colony, paying $75 or more for cat food each week. In addition, we have paid to spay or neuter 30 stray cats . Thanks to a grant from Feral City, even more stray cats were spayed or neutered before the grant expired.
The Colony currently assists 17 outside strays and 9 indoor stray cats. In addition, we have already spent more than $1000 this year in vet bills for medication, including $170 a month in flea meds. An older cat needs dental care that has been estimated at $800.
Because of the expenses of the Cherry Street Cat Colony have become too much for us, we ask that you give a donation to help us continue to provide for the stray cats in neighborhood.
