The National Hurricane Center is monitoring one area of potential tropical development over the northeastern Gulf of America near Florida.

🟡 Current Development Chances
• 20% chance of development during the next 48 hours
• 30% chance of development during the next 7 days

The disturbance is expected to move slowly northward to north-northwestward over the next several days.

What does this mean for Calhoun County?

While significant tropical development is not expected at this time, tropical moisture associated with this system could bring:
🌧️ Periods of heavy rainfall
⚠️ Localized flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas
💨 Gusty winds in heavier showers and thunderstorms
⛈️ Frequent lightning and hazardous weather conditions
