Habitat homes aren't free. But the cost of a home isn't always measured in dollars.

Sometimes it's measured in hours. In sweat. In sacrifices made today for a better tomorrow.

For families partnering with Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka, the journey to homeownership is about more than qualifying for an affordable mortgage.

It's about showing up. Putting in the work. Learning new skills. Making difficult choices. And investing time and energy into a future they're helping build for themselves.

Through sweat equity, homeownership education and financial commitment, Habitat homebuyers play an active role in making their dream of homeownership a reality.

And alongside them? A community of volunteers, donors and partners who believe that hard work and opportunity should go hand in hand.

Because the true value of a Habitat home isn't just what it costs to build.

It's what that home makes possible.

We are truly honored to receive the Chairman’s Community Impact Award from the Orlando Housing Authority! 🏑

Our CEO, Penny Seater, accepted the award today on behalf of Habitat at OHA’s October Board of Commissioners meeting. The award recognizes organizations making measurable contributions to affordable housing, housing stability and resident opportunity across Central Florida.

β€œTheir work goes far beyond building homes. They are changing lives, creating opportunities and giving families a foundation for a stronger future.” – John Crossman, Chair, OHA Board of Commissioners

For more than 35 years, we’ve helped income-qualified families achieve affordable homeownership. Along the way, we provide financial education and a path toward generational stability. This recognition belongs to every volunteer, homeowner, donor, business, and government partner who builds alongside us.

Thank you to the Orlando Housing Authority for this honor and for your commitment to housing solutions in our region. We’re grateful to work toward the same mission! πŸ’™

19 Central Florida executives traded meetings for hardhats and tool belts on Monday for ! πŸ”¨

On World Habitat Day, they installed windows and house wrap on two homes at Legacy Square, our newest community in Sanford.

The need is real: 62% of Central Florida renters are cost-burdened. Habitat homeownership can cut housing payments to about half of a family's prior rent.

πŸ™Œ A huge thank you to title sponsor Waste Pro USA and all of this year's Executive Build participants:

Angela Dickerson (HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital); Jeff Villanueva (AdventHealth Altamonte); Kevin Poole (AdventHealth Apopka); Shawn Molsberger and Antwan Williams (Orlando Health Lake Mary & North Market); Brian Taylor (Tri-County Towing); Suzanne Weinstein (Orlando Credit Union); Scott Zornek (HNTB); Tom Margio (Total Solutions Group); Erik Sankey (Waste Pro USA, title sponsor); Spencer Pylant (TECO Peoples Gas); Dan Christman (EXP); Josh Hudson (Hudson's Furniture); Billy Matthesen (Wharton-Smith, Inc.); Zak Sultan (Black Dog Advisors); Regine Bonneau (RB Advisory, LLC); Ron Bechor (Cigna Healthcare); Jay Zembower (Seminole County FL); and Janet Hall (NVIDIA).

🏠 Exciting progress continues at Legacy Square in Sanford!

Construction is underway on several homes along Legacy Row, and we're proud to see our St. John home built in partnership with GSeay Inc nearing completion. Recent milestones include the installation of sheathing and trusses, along with concrete pours for the upcoming Executive Build homes, where community and business leaders will soon come together to help advance Habitat's mission of creating affordable homeownership opportunities for local families.

It's exciting to watch a new community take shape as each milestone brings homes closer to completion. From foundations to framing and sheathing, the progress at Legacy Square reflects the dedication of everyone involved in bringing this vision to life.

We're honored to support a project that will make a lasting impact for families in our community and look forward to sharing more updates as construction continues.
