We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Pastor Bautista Fince, who passed away this past Saturday due to health complications.
Bautista faithfully served the Wayuu church for many years and played a meaningful role in the translation of the Old Testament into Wayuunaiki. His life was marked by humility, dedication, and a deep love for his people.
We are grateful for his life and legacy. Please join us in praying for his family and the Wayuu community as they grieve this loss.

Edwin began with Bread of Hope as an interpreter quietly translating lessons, never imagining he would one day teach them himself. But God had a bigger plan.
Through years of discipleship, growth, and faithful service, Edwin is now stepping into a new chapter: he will lead our entire Sembradores training program in 2026.
This is what we’ve prayed for Wayuu leaders rising to shepherd their own churches with Gospel clarity.
Join us in supporting the next generation of indigenous leaders.

A health crisis opened a door and God used it for healing and the Gospel.
Thanks to a partnership with @, Wayuu volunteers are now caring for their neighbors with skill and compassion.
In 2026, we hope to expand this training to seven more communities.

A Proclaimer is more than a device; it's an open door.
These solar-powered audio devices give access to God's Word to many oral learners, and now, for the first time in history, the full Bible is recorded in Wayuunaiki. Now we must place it in the hands of Wayuu families.
Help us send Proclaimers in 2026

What began with one simple step of obedience in 2009 has become a story of God opening door after door for the Gospel to reach the Wayuu people of La Guajira. Through audio Scripture, indigenous leadership, health initiatives, and community discipleship, God continues to lead the Wayuu church toward maturity.
As we enter 2026, new doors stand before us. We invite you to walk through them with us.

Shining a light on hope! 🌟 We're grateful to LuminAID for empowering our Wayuu pastors with solar-powered lanterns this summer, and to and Alpharetta First Baptist Church for their support! Now, our pastors can dive deeper into God's word, illuminating their path and inspiring transformation in their communities. As Psalm 119:105 reminds us, 'Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.' ✨

The Wayuu people are known for their resourcefulness, using what's available to create everything from intricate crafts to fun games. The 'cactus race' is one example of their ingenuity. In this game, a piece of cactus, about 8 to 12 inches long, is cut and pushed along the ground with a stick. It's a simple yet exciting race! This past summer, some short-term mission teams from the US visited La Guajira and had a great time playing this traditional game. It's a testament to the Wayuu people's ability to find joy and entertainment using only their wits and the natural resources around them.

At Bread of Hope we are grateful for our friends who encourage us to continue and persevere in our faith and service.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near"

Take some time today to pray for our Wayuu brothers and sisters in Christ.

With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints.
