We are encouraged to see Wayuu leaders stepping forward to serve communities beyond their own.

Luis and Sauro are part of a church-planting effort with Bread of Hope in Palo Alto, Venezuela, where they are helping establish an indigenous church. Now, their local church, Fuente de Amor Baptist Church, is sending them to La Guaira to support churches ministering to those affected by the recent earthquakes.

They will participate in evangelistic outreach and children’s ministries, including serving orphans and other vulnerable children. Sauro is traveling today with a team of leaders from Maracaibo, and Luis plans to travel next week after Sauro returns.

Please pray for their safety, for the churches and ministry teams serving in La Guaira, and especially for the families affected by the earthquakes. Pray that God will use every conversation, act of compassion, and Gospel message to bring hope, love, and the life-giving truth of Jesus Christ.

What a joy it is to see our Wayuu brothers being equipped, sent by their church, and joining God’s work of serving others. Please join us in praying for Luis, Sauro, and everyone involved in these efforts.

Many of you have asked about our Wayuu friends and Bread of Hope staff in Maracaibo after the recent earthquakes in Venezuela.
We are grateful to share that they are safe and were not directly affected. Maracaibo is far from the epicenter and the areas facing the greatest destruction.
Still, our hearts are heavy for Venezuela. This may become one of the most devastating natural disasters in the country’s recent history, and we ask you to join us in praying for the families who have lost loved ones, for those still waiting for rescue, and for churches and believers seeking to serve their neighbors in this time of suffering.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Pastor Bautista Fince, who passed away this past Saturday due to health complications.
Bautista faithfully served the Wayuu church for many years and played a meaningful role in the translation of the Old Testament into Wayuunaiki. His life was marked by humility, dedication, and a deep love for his people.
We are grateful for his life and legacy. Please join us in praying for his family and the Wayuu community as they grieve this loss.

Edwin began with Bread of Hope as an interpreter quietly translating lessons, never imagining he would one day teach them himself. But God had a bigger plan.
Through years of discipleship, growth, and faithful service, Edwin is now stepping into a new chapter: he will lead our entire Sembradores training program in 2026.
This is what we’ve prayed for Wayuu leaders rising to shepherd their own churches with Gospel clarity.
