🔨 Building More Than a House! 🏠

Saturday was a special day of service for the Rotary Club of North Fulton as our members joined Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia for a First Nail Ceremony and the start of framing on a new home.

Our club is proud to support this Habitat build both financially and with hands-on volunteer service. On Saturday, October 3, our volunteers picked up their hammers and worked alongside the family who will ultimately call this house home.

Having the family there made the day especially meaningful. They worked side-by-side with volunteers and shared their heartfelt gratitude with everyone helping to make their dream of homeownership a reality.

There is something powerful about watching the walls of a home begin to rise — and knowing that behind every nail, board and volunteer hour is a family looking forward to a new chapter.

We are grateful to Habitat for Humanity of North Central Georgia for the opportunity to be part of that journey and proud of our North Fulton Rotarians who continue to put Service Above Self into action.

Service looks a little different every time — and that’s one of the things we love about Rotary! 💙💛

North Fulton Rotarians rolled up their sleeves in September for two very different projects, both focused on making our community stronger.

🔎 At Children’s Development Academy, our members helped organize a treasure hunt for the children, bringing plenty of fun and excitement to a preschool that provides high-quality early education to underserved children in our community. Sometimes service is simply about creating a special experience and a few big smiles!

❤️ At Wellstar North Fulton, Rotarians focused on a different kind of service — CPR training. Learning these lifesaving skills helps prepare members of our community to step in when every second counts.

From treasure hunts to CPR training, there are countless ways to serve — and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make a difference right here in North Fulton.

Another packed house for North Fulton Rotary! 💙💛

Our September 8 meeting was filled with plenty to celebrate, starting with Happy Dollars and a little Rotary history. Steve Cory challenged members to raise $26.50 for The Rotary Foundation—the amount of the first contribution to the endowment fund proposed by Arch Klumph in 1917 that eventually became The Rotary Foundation.

We also celebrated Joe Leone and Dave MacDougall as they "graduated" from red badges to white badges. Both have already jumped into club life, and we're so glad to have them as part of North Fulton Rotary.

A highlight of the meeting was hearing from Chase Merriwether, a Thrive Academy student who attended RYLA this summer with a scholarship from our club. Chase shared how the leadership experience challenged him to grow, build trust, and put himself outside his comfort zone. His advice to future RYLA participants? "Put yourself out there and try to enjoy yourselves because you only get one chance." We couldn't agree more!

Finally, we got to know Joe Leone a little better through his vocational talk. Joe shared his journey from New York to Georgia, his career in business development and sales, and what drew him to Rotary—a desire to serve and connect with others. His "news we can use" was a great reminder for all of us: Be full of gratitude, and be genuine and respectful of others.

Another great meeting filled with fellowship, generosity, new connections, and a reminder of the many ways Rotary helps us invest in both our community and the next generation of leaders.

Despite the very warm temperature (fall is coming, right?), our members and guests had a great time gathering for our monthly social on the rooftop at Cru W**e Bar at Avalon on Tuesday. These evenings are a great opportunity to strengthen our connections and discuss upcoming events and ideas for future service projects. Curious about Rotary? We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 12 pm at Brimstone Restaurant in Alpharetta (10595 Old Alabama Road Connector). Come for a visit!

Another Red Cross Blood Drive in the books! This time, 44 pints were collected! Many thanks to those who volunteered at the blood drive with Roswell Rotary Club and Rotary Club of North Fulton on Wednesday at Roswell Junction. We mostly appreciate the kind-hearted individuals who donated blood. We are in a critical blood supply shortage, so if you missed this one, we'll have another in two months.
