On August 22, North Fulton Rotarians and guests traded their usual meeting setting for the kitchen, gathering at Taste Buds Kitchen for a fun and interactive evening of cooking, fellowship, and fundraising.

With guidance from a chef, participants rolled up their sleeves and worked together to prepare a delicious meal before sitting down to enjoy the results of their efforts. The hands-on experience provided plenty of laughs and a great opportunity for members and guests to mingle and strengthen friendships in a relaxed setting.

The evening also supported the Rotary Club of North Fulton, with Taste Buds Kitchen donating a portion of the proceeds back to the club. And no Rotary gathering would be complete without a little extra fun — the 50/50 raffle was a big hit, with the happy winner taking home more than $500!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening and to Taste Buds Kitchen for helping us combine fellowship, food, and fundraising in such a memorable way. It was a great reminder that doing good together can also be a lot of fun!

Thanks to everyone who joined North Fulton Rotary on Aug. 11 — a warm, lively meeting full of happy dollars and community spirit.

Our guest speaker was Dr. Ralph Peeler from the North Atlanta Rotary Club, accompanied by fellow Rotarian, Jon Yaeger. North Atlanta Rotary is in year 4 of a planned 5-year global grant project to reduce the number of spina bifida births in Ethiopia. Approximately 70-80% of spina bifida is attributed to low folic acid so the grant works to provide folate tablets to women who have already given birth to one child with spina bifida as they are ten times more likely to give birth to another. Our club is happy to contribute money toward this worthy cause.

We were also thrilled to induct Flore Zambou as a new member, sponsored by Joy Manbeck. Flore is originally from Cameroon, where her parents were founding members of a Rotary club. Flore works as a Real Estate Broker and her husband practices real estate litigation law (hopefully Flore has never needed to engage his services!). We look forward to serving alongside Flore and getting to know her better.

And last, but certainly not least, we officially celebrated Mike Mudd’s 25th anniversary as a member of our club! We marked this incredible milestone with a Rotary 25th Anniversary pin and a branded hat—a small token of the friendships he’s built and the gratitude our members have for his 25 years of fellowship and service.

It was a meaningful meeting — full of personal milestones, warm welcomes, and Rotary service in action.

On Saturday, August 15th, North Fulton Rotary members joined Habitat for Humanity North Central Georgia to complete landscaping around a new home built for a single mother and her two teenage daughters. The project focused on preparing the yard to be safe and welcoming for the family.

Volunteers handled several key tasks:

Clearing construction debris
Planting bushes and trees
Installing sod (which required the clearing of large rocks)
Installing mulch

Although it was a very hot day, members continued the work and were welcomed by the new homeowner, who joined them on the job and expressed her appreciation. The partnership with Habitat for Humanity North Central Georgia gave club members an opportunity to contribute hands-on support to a local family and demonstrate community spirit.

North Fulton Rotary continues to seek practical ways to support neighbors and improve local neighborhoods through volunteer projects and partnerships.

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of Service Above Self! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating a very special milestone in our club’s 26-year history: Mike Mudd is the first member of the Rotary Club of North Fulton to celebrate 25 years of membership!

Mike was inducted into our club on August 7, 2001, and in the quarter-century since, he has consistently made a difference through his leadership, service, generosity, and friendship.
Over the years, Mike has served our club in countless ways, including many years on the Board and as Club President during the 2017–2018 Rotary year—fittingly, when the Rotary International theme was “Rotary: Making a Difference.” And Mike certainly has.

Twenty-five years in, Mike has not become a “relaxed” Rotarian. His wisdom, experience, and practical perspective remain invaluable to the continued success of our club. He has also extended his leadership to District 6900, sharing his passion and expertise in The Rotary Foundation and global grants with Rotarians throughout the District.

Mike is a Major Donor Level 2 and a recipient of the prestigious Rotary International Citation for Meritorious Service for his dedication to The Rotary Foundation—a well-deserved recognition of his commitment to Rotary.

But titles and awards tell only part of the story. Mike’s fellow club members know him as someone who is extraordinarily generous with his time and talents. He’s the Rotarian conducting new member orientations, helping a new Club President figure out a budget, serving as a subcommittee chair for our Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, packing meals, digging ditches—and, when Rotary duty calls, dressing in a group theme for District Conference.

In other words, Mike doesn’t just belong to Rotary. He shows up for Rotary. For 25 years, Mike has helped shape the Rotary Club of North Fulton into the club it is today. It’s hard to imagine our club without him, and we are incredibly lucky that, 25 years ago, he chose to make our club his Rotary home.

Congratulations, Mike, on 25 remarkable years of Service Above Self—and thank you for making a difference every step of the way! 💙💛

This week's Rotary Club of North Fulton meeting celebrated both new beginnings and the incredible impact of Rotary around the world.

We were excited to officially welcome Chris Lyboldt as the newest member of our club! We look forward to serving alongside Chris and continuing to make a difference in our community.

Our program featured Bob MacDonald, District 6900 Rotary Youth Exchange Chair, and special guest Brian Navorro-McClean, who recently returned from a year as a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Taiwan. Brian shared how living with three host families and experiencing a new culture broadened his perspective and taught him valuable life lessons.

Bob also highlighted the Rotary Youth Exchange program, which gives students the opportunity to learn a new language, experience another culture, and develop into global citizens through an unforgettable year abroad.

Thank you, Bob and Brian, for an inspiring presentation, and welcome to Rotary, Chris! 💙💛

The Rotary Club of North Fulton kicked off the new Rotary year with our first meeting under the leadership of President Dan Jenkins! President Dan shared his vision for the year ahead and challenged each of us to consider how we can deepen our involvement in service projects and continue making a meaningful impact in our community.

We put that challenge into action before the meeting even ended! 🎒💙

Our members assembled 48 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for middle school students served by North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC).

NFCC's Community Engagement Manager, SaraSpring Weston, shared that the need this year has increased by 200 additional students, making our contribution especially important. These backpacks will help ensure more local students begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

We are excited to see what we can accomplish together this Rotary year as we continue to live out our motto of Service Above Self.
