Friends of Birmingham Park

Friends of Birmingham Park Community Group for City of Milton's Birmingham Park, a 290 acre pedestrian/equestrian trail park.

Designed to link park users to happenings at our community's woodland preserve.

All are invited on Tuesday to help shape the future of Milton's newest active park along Deerfield Parkway.

Between 5:30 to 7:30 that evening, people can drop-in at Milton Municipal Court (in the back/police building of the Public Safety Complex at 13690 Highway 9). There, they'll get to view the latest concept plan alternatives -- and also share their views with project team members.

For more about this pivotal park project, go to www.miltonga.gov/DeerfieldActivePark.

Do you find yourself wondering who has the right of way on a multi-use trail? The Yield Triangle is your answer!
🐴 Horse riders always have the right-of-way
🚴‍♀️ Bikers yield to everyone
🥾 Hikers yield to horses

Why does everyone yield to horses? They can scare easily and have the largest impact when stepping off-trail. Communicate with the rider for instructions on safe yielding or passing. Why do bikers yield to everyone? Because they move the fastest and have brakes!

As a general rule of thumb 👍 descending hikers should yield to ascending hikers. Downhill hikers have a greater field of vision, and uphill hikers might need to keep their momentum. Together we can successfully share the trails by communicating politely, being considerate, and respecting posted signage.
