The night before the first day of school…

The classrooms are ready. The sensory supports are in place. The visual schedules are posted. The supplies are organized. The halls are quiet, but tomorrow they’ll be filled with the sounds, smiles, movement, and energy we’ve been waiting for.

Our staff have poured so much thought, care, and love into creating spaces where every student can feel safe, supported, successful, and ready to SOAR.

Now we’re just anxiously awaiting the most important part… OUR KIDS!

Tomorrow, the learning begins, the connections grow, and another AMAzing school year starts at Piper.

Here’s to a year filled with progress, possibilities, and plenty of moments that remind us why we do what we do.

The halls are coming back to life! Our amazing staff are officially back in the building, preparing, planning, collaborating, and getting everything ready for our students to return on Monday, August 31!

There’s something special about watching an empty building transform into a place filled with purpose, possibility, laughter, learning, and SO much love.

We’re ready to welcome our students back and make this year AMAZING! Here’s to a new school year, new beginnings, and another year of watching our students SOAR!

We’re excited to welcome back our AMA ESD Special Education Department staff as we kick off the 2026–2027 school year!

Our team gathered this morning to reconnect, reflect on the important work ahead, and prepare for another year of supporting students, families, local school districts, and our AMA programs across the region.

Our Special Education Department provides services and support through programs including Pied Piper School, Early Childhood Special Education, Early On, and our Emotional Impairment classroom, while also partnering with local school districts to support students and staff in their communities.

We are grateful for the dedication, collaboration, and expertise our team brings to this work each day.

Our students had a delicious time making grilled Nutella and marshmallow fluff sandwiches! They practiced following directions, working together, and, of course, enjoyed a sweet reward for their hard work. Learning is even more fun when it ends with a tasty treat!
