Another busy day at the Senior Center Punky Mahle Simpson with SkellaFit Personal Training kicked off the morning with lots of energy and movement. We had a full house. Our daily congregate meal is from 11:30-12:30 M-F.
Then this afternoon we held our Monthly Memory Cafe - Cardio drumming with Aimee. We ended the afternoon with a presentation learning more about VA services, unfortunately I forgot photos of this. Thank you Laurel and Chauntel for sharing important information with the group today and to all those who attended.

Diabetes Support Group
Meets today, Friday, October 2, at 1:00 p.m.

Living with diabetes can present daily challenges, but you do not have to face them alone. Connecting with others who understand your experiences can provide encouragement, valuable information, and ongoing support.

The Diabetes Support Group offers a welcoming environment where participants can share experiences, discuss concerns, and learn practical strategies for managing their health. The group is facilitated by Norman Schultz, RN, of
MyMichigan Medical Center, who provides education and guidance on a variety of diabetes-related topics.

The group meets on the first Friday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the center. New and returning participants are always welcome.

Next Meeting:
Friday, November 6, at 1:00 p.m.

Whether you have recently been diagnosed or have been managing diabetes for years, this group provides an opportunity to connect with others, gain helpful insights, and find support in a friendly setting.

🍂 October Meals on Wheels & Congregate Meal Menu 🍂

As the autumn leaves begin to change and the days grow a little cooler, we invite you to enjoy a warm, nutritious meal with friends at the Alpena Senior Citizens Center.

🍽️ Our Noon Meal is served from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

🔹 Ages 60 & Over: Hot meal with a suggested donation of $4.50
🔹 Under Age 60: Hot meal cost is $8.00

This fall, gather around the table for good food, friendly conversation, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Federal and state grants cover only a portion of the cost of the meals we provide. Donations help us continue serving seniors throughout our community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

We have been busy this week at the Senior Center exercise classes, ladies working on puzzles and a fall art class with Lane. It’s so exciting hearing all the social activities and conversations throughout the day. If you want to learn about our programs or services please stop in for a visit.
