📢 Hello Alpena County 4-H'ers!

We have a busy couple of weeks ahead, so here are a few important reminders:

✅ 4-H Award Applications are available for pickup at the MSU Extension office. The office is open today (Thursday) until 4:00 p.m. Please return completed applications to the office mailbox by Monday morning.

✅ 4-H Council Nominations Nominations are still being accepted for Alpena County 4-H Council! There are 4 adult seats and 6 youth seats open. Voting will take place during the County Awards Banquet.

✅ Community Service Opportunities

🚜 Apple Pumpkin Fun Day at the Tractor Show Saturday | 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. We are looking for youth volunteers to assist with:

Glitter tattoos
Petting zoo activities

🎃 Hinks Haunted Trail RSVP by Friday, October 9 if you would like to participate. The event takes place October 16-17. We are looking for:

Scarers/actors
A group of youth to create and decorate a section of the trail

Please call Michelle to RSVP for the Haunted Trail opportunity. You will be contacted with details early next week!

✅ County Awards Banquet The County Awards Banquet is just around the corner! This is a catered event, so it is important that we have an accurate headcount. If you plan to attend, please RSVP. Also, let the office know if you will be bringing an appetizer or dessert to share.

📣 Community Service Opportunity: Volunteer at Hink's Haunted Trail! 🎃👻

Looking for a fun way to earn community service hours while getting into the Halloween spirit? Join us at Hink's Haunted Trail!

🕸️ Youth can participate in two ways:
✅ Create and decorate a section of the haunted trail
✅ Donate your time as part of the Scaring Team and help bring the trail to life!

📅 Volunteer Dates: October 16th or October 17th
⏰ Start Time: 5:15 PM

This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, work with friends, and make Halloween fun for local families!

Updates & Rule Changes for the 2026-2027 year!🍀📑

- Members will represent Alpena County 4-H and need to wear proper and appropriate clothing while on grounds and representing Alpena 4-H Youth. 🍀

-The age for finished beef project will now be lowered to age 8 with the limitation of it not being the youths first year in the 4-H program. 🐂

- Market Lambs will have a maximum of 180 for market weights. 🐑

- Stewer Rabbits will now be able to be born AFTER December and remian at least 6 months old by fair. 🐰
