Last week Agriscience students and paraprofessional Barry Rondeau were able to visit Hinks Elementary School to plant outdoor planters to help beautify the school. The plants were all grown in the agriscience greenhouse this school year.

Tomorrow is drive your tractor to school day. Any FFA member participating should be at AHS by 7:00 am and plan to park in the front oval in the morning. You will be moving tractors to the back of school after the morning. We will be grilling lunch for all participants in the agriscience shop!

The Alpena FFA Little Food Pantry is filled and up and running again. We received a grant from National FFA and a donation from Meijer to continue the project this spring and summer. We now are offering “Meals in a Bag” as well as other canned and nonperishable items.

The 2026-2027 Alpena FFA Officer team attended the Michigan FFA Region VI regional leadership camp its Camp Daggett in Petoskey on Monday. Officers participated in chapter team building activities and leadership training activities and elected the new regional officers. Congratulations to Alpena member Abbey Glover for being elected the 2026-2027 Regional Reporter and Kirra Prevost being elected the 2026-2027 regional sentinel.

Thank you to everyone that came out today to support our students by purchasing some of our beautiful plants. We sold many of our planters and hanging baskets but still have a few left as well as annuals, vegetable and herb plants. We will be open from 9 am to noon tomorrow Saturday, May 9th.
