Thank you for your support Almont District Library!

March is Reading Month! We're once again helping our local chapter of the Imagination Library collect funds to help support the program! All proceeds go towards providing books for children in our community! Last year, we collected the most locally so let's do it again!

Four County Community Foundation’s Friends of Imagination Library affiliate works hard to ensure books are a 365-day a year habit for local families, but the 31 days in March hold a special place in their hearts. That’s when, in honor of March is Reading Month, these volunteers undertake one of their annual fundraising campaigns, Bucks for Books.

They’ve placed donation containers in high-traffic locations—including businesses, libraries and schools—where anyone can easily drop a cash donation and support Imagination Library’s free book gifting program. Every coin or dollar dropped in a canister is welcomed, no matter how big or small. In fact, our affiliate pays approximately $31 a year in books and postage per child per year—that’s one dollar per day for the month of March...what a coincidence!

Thanks to Carolyn at Squirreled Away Books in Armada and many others for hosting a collection jar!

🛍️Mark your calendars! Proceeds from a March 28 Craft Show at the Romeo Masonic Temple will benefit our Dolly Parton's Imagination Library affiliate.

If you're a crafter, we invite you to reserve a table by calling Sher at 248-496-9051.

If you're a shopper, we hope you'll plan to stop by that day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to do some browsing, buying or just to have lunch.

👉 Exactly five months from today, we'll be hosting our annual Golf Outing at Heather Hills Golf Club. We're counting down the days until we can be outside and enjoy a fun summer day on a beautiful green course! 🌞⛳

It's a special day for Dolly and we'd like to pass along our own birthday wishes to this early literacy supporter! 🎂

Her generosity has made it possible for our affiliate to partner with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and bring the gift of reading to more than 2,200 local children...that's something worth celebrating every day! 🎉

You did it! Our amazing supporters helped us reach and exceed our $15,000 matching campaign before the calendar turned to 2026 and, as a result, our Imagination Library Fund has grown by more than $30,000...thank you!

On this Giving Tuesday we're incredibly grateful to the Romeo Lions Club for their donation to our Dolly Parton's Imagination Library affiliate that serves the village of Romeo and townships of Washington and Bruce, among many others in Macomb, Lapeer and Oakland counties.
