The month of March we served 40 households. We also had a February visit from some AACS students in the ACE Community Engaged Learning class as they learned about our food pantry. As a result, the school has opened a food pantry for students.

We have food!! It seems I ordered enough for our pre-holiday numbers and they dropped by about 15 households the last couple months. If your electric bill is putting a squeeze on your finances, stop in and we can ease your grocery budget a little to help with the utilities.

Please help yourself to the banana boxes on the porch. You can burn them, break them down to make a path through the mud, keep the weeds down in your garden, etc.

Pop Up Pantry in Canaseraga, January 14 starting at 3:15. The truck was late last month, and could be again, since it comes from Rochester. Be patient as the line may be long due to some delays.

With the severe weather advisory in effect until 7 pm Wednesday, the Food Pantry is currently planning to be open starting at 4 pm. HOWEVER, we may decide it isn't safe to be on the roads and close. Please call the office 607-276-6151 before coming out if you are brave enough to travel. If someone answers the phone, we are there and open and you are welcome to brave the weather.

December 23 and December 30 we are extending our hours as we will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We will be open from 4 pm to 7 pm to be sure we can serve those who need food. We will resume our regular hours on Tuesday, January 6, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and Thursdays from 9 am to noon.

Please get the word out -- I have not had as many people sign up to receive a CHRISTMAS BASKET as I anticipated. I have room for about 20 or more people. Please e-mail the food pantry to sign up for yourself or anyone you know who may be blessed with a little extra food this Christmas. [email protected] PICK UP is Thursday between 1 pm and 3:30 pm and Friday between 10 am and 4 pm. Please e-mail so I can know how many to expect and which day. A phone number can be helpful, also. I would like to be able to notify you if I have too many people sign up.

A big THANK YOU to Amira for sponsoring a food drive on the 2 Alfred campuses for us. It is so helpful to have foods that I can't order through Foodlink, especially the different flavors of soup that aren't chicken noodle and cream of chicken.
