This post is for Gardeners!

If you’re interested in growing potatoes- message us. Or keep an eye on our posts. We just got some lovely potatoes via Greater Lansing Food Bank Garden Project grown by MSU.

We can’t plant until the rain comes through (thank goodness it’s coming!) But we’ll have leftovers 😊

Our garden is getting full!

Free winter squash plants on the produce stand! Please be aware that pots marked buttercup might be butternut and
vice versa. The fun that happens when littler hands are helping 😊

Generosity.

Some days, what you give returns twofold. Or more.
Yesterday’s harvest, early radishes and rubarb for the food pantry. Also resulted in a meeting with a vegetable grower who stopped by. And donated some lovely winter squash and pepper varieties that we were lacking 💕! Any leftovers will go on the stand. Apologies from this gardener- I can’t thank you by name ( not at the garden right now).

Three things on our mind:

On this Memorial Day we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to their country.

It’s also given this gardener cause to remember the term Victory Garden, only somewhat related. Not sure how many of remember that one.

Tomorrow- Tuesday at 7pm! We meet at the garden 🪴 🪏 see you there!

If you look closely, you notice that some of our radishes are much bigger than others. Probably because they had room to grow earlier. The same is true of carrots and all the other tiny seeds that we sow. If we’re lucky we will get to thin them.

Spring chores aren’t hard, well most of them, they are just never ending! But it’s raining today, so no watering 😊

We had 7 gardeners on Tuesday, despite the rainy forecast and occasional raindrops. Five more on Wednesday. Slowly getting our donor beds filled in. Some tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and cucumber planted. Thinned the radishes a bit and got some more beds in shape.
