The new school year is almost here, and our teachers and staff are busy getting ready!

This week, we’re praying for everyone involved at our schools as they prepare to welcome students back.

Please join us in praying for:
• Wisdom for teachers and staff as they prepare for the year ahead
• A smooth transition for new students as they join the EduNations family
• Effective planning across our schools as the new academic year begins

There is so much that happens behind the scenes before students return! Please pray that God would give our team wisdom, strength, and guidance as they prepare for another year of educating and caring for our students.

Like this post to let us know you’re joining us in prayer this week ❤️

Meet Emmanuella T. Conteh, a 16-year-old student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa. ❤️

Before joining EduNations, school wasn’t always an encouraging place for Emmanuella. Being teased because of her height affected her confidence, and financial expectations at her previous school created additional challenges.

But when Emmanuella joined EduNations, she found a fresh start and a community where she felt supported, valued, and encouraged to grow.

One of the most meaningful changes has been in her faith. “One of the greatest ways EduNations has impacted my life is by strengthening my faith in Christ,” she shares. “I have learned to accept and overcome challenges that I once struggled with.”

Along the way, friends have encouraged her to discover her talent for singing and become more confident speaking in front of others.

Now a Science student who especially loves Biology, Emmanuella dreams of becoming a nurse so she can care for others, save lives, and make a positive difference in her community.

Emmanuella is currently available for sponsorship. Through sponsorship, you can come alongside her education as she continues growing in knowledge, confidence, faith, and pursuing her dream of serving others through healthcare.

Meet Ishmiel Sankoh, an 18-year-old student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa.

For much of Ishmiel’s childhood, continuing his education wasn’t guaranteed. As the third of 13 children in a farming family, he watched his parents work tirelessly and make sacrifices to provide for their children. Still, the question of whether his family could afford school fees weighed heavily on him.

When Ishmiel joined EduNations in Junior Secondary School, that burden was lifted. Today, he can focus his energy on learning and on the future he hopes to build.

His favorite subject is Government, where learning about leadership, justice, and citizens’ rights has inspired Ishmiel's dream to become a lawyer.

One day, he hopes to advocate for people regardless of their financial circumstances and be a voice for those who may not otherwise have access to legal representation.

At school, Ishmiel also receives three nutritious meals each day, helping him stay healthy, energized, and focused in the classroom.

Ishmiel is currently available for sponsorship. Through sponsorship, you can invest in his education and walk alongside him as he continues pursuing a future dedicated to serving others.

What’s on the menu at the EduNations boarding school? 🍽️

Our students are served a variety of Sierra Leonean meals throughout the week, providing the nourishment they need to learn and grow. Here’s what a typical week of meals looks like:

• Sunday: Black-eyed beans + rice
• Monday: Cassava leaf + rice
• Tuesday: Soup + rice
• Wednesday: Yellow beans + rice
• Thursday: Konchion beans + rice
• Friday: Fried rice
• Saturday: One-pot konchion beans

At EduNations, educating the whole child means caring for both mind and body. For students living at our Senior Secondary Boarding School, a warm meal is an important part of making school a place where they can focus on their education.

Which meal would you try? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Meet Hawanatu Kamara, a 9-year-old Primary student at EduNations’ Mayatta Primary School. ❤️

Hawanatu began attending EduNations in Nursery, where she started building the reading and writing skills that have opened up a whole new world of learning. Today, her favorite subject is Reading and Comprehension because she loves learning new things and better understanding the world around her.

And as Hawanatu has grown through education, her dream to become a teacher has started to take shape.

Hawanatu believes education changes lives, and one day, she hopes to give other children the same opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their futures.

Her story is a beautiful reminder this International Youth Day of what can happen when a young person is given the opportunity to learn.

Hawanatu is currently available for sponsorship. Through sponsorship, you can come alongside her as she continues her education and works toward her dream of one day investing in the next generation herself.

Futures full of hope ❤️

A teacher. A lawyer. A nurse. A doctor. An accountant.

These are the futures Hawanatu, Ishmiel, Emmanuella, Osman, and Adamsay are dreaming about, and over the next five days, you'll get to know each of them.

These dreams may still be years in the making, but the opportunity to pursue them begins with education today.

With the new school year beginning in Sierra Leone on September 7, we’re nearing the finish line of our 100 Students in 100 Days campaign. Our goal is to help 100 students find sponsors as they prepare to return to the classroom.

As we share about these five students, we hope you’ll follow along, pray for them, and consider whether God might be inviting you to come alongside one of them through sponsorship.

Three meals every day 🥗

Our latest Impact Snapshot brings together data and firsthand stories to show how consistent nourishment is supporting students at EduNations’ boarding school.

Before entering the boarding program, 70% of students attended school without eating breakfast, and 85% came from food-insecure households. Today, boarding students can count on breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing key insights this Impact Snapshot.

In the meantime, take a look at the full Impact Snapshot for more data and stories behind the Feeding Program: https://www.edunations.org/messages/impact-snapshot-feeding-program

As a new school year approaches, will you join us in prayer? 🙏

This week, we’re praying for God’s provision for our students, schools, and communities in Sierra Leone.

Please join us in praying for:
• Resources for transportation and other logistics needed for school
• Teaching and learning materials for both students and teachers
• Food for families during Sierra Leone's rainy season

As we prepare to welcome students back to the classroom, we trust God to provide for each need, both big and small.

We’re praising God for His protection over Mohamed Sesay, an EduNations Senior Secondary student from Fintonia.

Mohamed was bitten by a snake while working alongside our Farm Manager on the school farmland. He was immediately taken to a local clinic for first aid and then transferred to Caring Hands Hospital in Makeni for further treatment. Mohamed is now stable and recovering well.

Several years ago, snakebites caused the death of multiple EduNations students each year. However, since establishing our partnership with Caring Hands, we have not lost a student to a snakebite. We praise God for this partnership and for the healthcare professionals who make medical care accessible when emergencies happen.

Please join us in praying for Mohamed’s continued recovery and for the health of our students and staff across all six EduNations communities. ❤️
