The impish Devon Rex began with a single curly-coated cat born in Devonshire, England in 1959. Breeders determined that it was not related to the Cornish Rex (also curly-coated), but an entirely new breed. Because of the work of breeders, a new breed was established and it is now one of CFA's most popular breeds.

Fall is finally here! And what goes better with cooler days than a cat (or two)?
The brown patched tabby pattern reminds of leaves changing color and then falling. It is a combination of any of the tabby patterns (classic, mackerel, spotted, or ticked) with patches of red sprinkled throughout. Brown patched is the most common variant, but silver patched, blue patched, and several other variations exist.
