Stories like Clarisse’s show why high-quality Head Start programs matter, supporting more than 26,000 children and families across all 88 Ohio counties ❤️

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has proposed changes to Head Start that could affect classroom ratios, health and developmental screenings, services for children with disabilities, family input, eligibility requirements, and other important program standards.

The public comment period closes TODAY, October 6. TAKE ACTION: SUBMIT A PUBLIC COMMENT -- LINK IN COMMENTS!

Your perspective can help demonstrate the importance of protecting Head Start for families and communities across our state. Take a few minutes to urge federal officials to preserve the standards that protect Head Start’s quality and comprehensive approach for Ohio families!!

LEGO Night at The Alliance Commons!

Thank you to all the volunteers and supporters who made this event possible! A huge thank you to all the families that attended!

09/30/2026

ECEA was thrilled to host the LEGO night at The Alliance Commons last night. Nearly 200 people and 44 families attended and received free LEGO starter packs along with books and mini-figs. In addition, children were able to build and keep their own LEGO cars at race them on a racetrack built by Sarge at Project REBUILD Inc.. It was a blast!
Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, donated and helped make this event possible. ECEA is especially grateful for funding from Greater Alliance Foundation through The Reed Fund, as this funding put literacy and STEM activities in the hands of Alliance families and children.
Thank you to our volunteers from The University of Mount Union for running the Free Build and Tower Stations. Thank you to Rockne Flugan for creating the amazing LEGO museum and display, as well as being our local LEGO expert to answer any questions about LEGO projects for the evening.
Thank you to Abby Honaker Schroeder for providing pizza and snacks for the children and families. We appreciate everyone coming together to make memories that will last a lifetime.
