Work has been completed on the basement at the soda fountain. It looks like a transformed place. Two new sump pumps and a dehumidifier are in place. Many thanks to the Wayne Community Foundation for the funds to be able to make this improvement.

Work and progress continue on the work in the basement at the soda fountain. Second stage of work has begun and is being done by Thrasher Foundation Repair of Urbandale. The white material on the walls will be permanent and will act as a moisture barrier. Moisture seeping in from other places will be contained underneath the floor covering. Final floor covering is not yet in place.

Work has begun on the basement. Debris has been removed. New supporting posts have been installed, replacing hedgerow posts. Notice they have been placed on concrete blocks to keep them out of the muck to prevent deterioration. Many thanks to our excellent photographer, Tim Kelly.

Many thanks to the Wayne Community Foundation for awarding a much needed grant to the OTSF. Funds will be used to jack up the floor and add support beams in the basement. Moisture has long been a problem in the basement and funds will, also, be used to alleviate this problem. All of us at the soda fountain are deeply grateful to the Wayne Community Foundation for their support and their belief in what the soda fountain offers to the Wayne County community. Thank you. The soda fountain will begin it’s 16th year when opening June 7, 2025. Then and now the soda fountain relies on volunteers to keep opening. Can you volunteer on a Saturday evening?
