💚 What a night!

Our Bring a Big Happy Hour at Yergey Brewing was filled with great conversations, new connections, and so much enthusiasm for mentorship.

We were excited to meet many future Bigs, with several attendees already scheduling interviews and others planning to begin the process in the coming months. A special thank you to our Brand Ambassadors, who shared their personal experiences and helped bring our mission to life for everyone in attendance.

The energy in the tent was incredible, and the impact of mentorship was on full display.

If you couldn't make it, don't worry. There are still plenty of opportunities to learn more about becoming a Big through one of our upcoming orientation sessions.

✨ Exciting updates at the BBBSLV Youth Mentoring Center! ✨

We're always looking for ways to make our space more welcoming and engaging for the young people, volunteers, and families we serve.

Most recently, we installed a brand-new glass entry door and upgraded security system, thanks to the team at FlyLock. The new entrance creates a brighter, more inviting first impression for everyone who walks through our doors.

We're also excited to unveil new custom door wraps for our Carlisle Street Community Rooms, giving these mentoring spaces a fresh look that better reflects the energy and impact happening inside every day. Thank you to Project Printed for these great wraps!

It's inspiring to see these improvements come to life as we continue creating spaces where mentorship can thrive.

Thank you to everyone who helps us make the BBBSLV Youth Mentoring Center a place where youth can feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged from the moment they arrive.

Six years ago, Alaina hoped to make a difference in a young person's life. What she found was a lifelong friendship. 💚

Matched when Ualani was in elementary school, the two have grown together through school, friendships, hobbies, challenges, and milestones. Today, Ualani is in high school and describes Alaina as "the big sister I always wished I had."

One of their favorite activities right now? Making dinner together and revisiting movies from Alaina's teenage years, then exploring the soundtracks and discovering "new" music together.

We are incredibly grateful to the Bethlehem office of CAPTRUST for selecting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley as the recipient of a 2026 grant from the CAPTRUST Community Foundation!

The Foundation supports nonprofits across the country that are enriching the lives of children, and we are honored to have been chosen through a thoughtful selection process led by the Bethlehem team.

Last week, Chris and Mike visited our office to present the grant and learn more about the impact of mentoring across the Lehigh Valley. We appreciated their genuine interest in our mission, thoughtful questions, and enthusiasm for helping young people reach their full potential.

☕ Happy International Coffee Day!

When people think about mentoring, they often imagine big moments and grand adventures.

But sometimes, the moments that matter most are the simplest ones.

For Big Sister Erika and Little Sister Aubree, one of their favorite things to do is grab a coffee and head to Target together. It's during these everyday outings that conversations happen, confidence grows, and friendships are strengthened.

Mentorship isn't about planning something extraordinary. It's about spending time together, building trust, and showing up consistently.

🍂 September Match Anniversaries 🍂

This month, we're celebrating 7 Community-Based Matches with a combined 36 years of mentorship. 💚

Among this incredible group is Big Tony & Little Santos, who are celebrating an extraordinary 13 years matched together, making them our longest-running match!

Thirteen years is more than a milestone. It's a young person growing up with a trusted mentor by their side through countless life stages, transitions, successes, and challenges. It's a powerful reminder that mentorship isn't just about making a difference for a moment. It's about being part of someone's journey for the long haul.

Together, these seven matches represent 36 years of friendship, encouragement, and unwavering commitment. We are grateful for each Big and Little who continues to demonstrate the lasting impact of mentorship.
