This year we will raise funds for children in Haiti. We will be sponsoring the Cavaillon Orphanage in Haiti. The orphanage was opened on December 8, 2008 in Cavaillon, a town located in the south of Haiti. The orphanage is owned and operated by the Sisters of Charity of Saint-Hyacinthe. There are about 25 young girls presently there, from the ages of 4 to about 12. All the girls attend either the nursery or elementary school operated by the Sisters.

Bike4Beds 2021 Year-end Update

This year, Bike4Beds supported the Cavaillon Orphanage in Haiti and the building of a primary school in Hiheatro, Togo.

The Cavaillon Orphanage’s school was damaged by the earthquake in Haiti on August 14th along with tropical storm Grace a few days later. We gave a gift of $6000 to support them during this difficult time.

We began an exciting new project to build a primary school in Hiheatro, Togo this year. The contractors have completed the foundation, walls and roof. Next, we will add doors, windows, stucco and finish the interior. We are very pleased with the speed of construction and remaining under budget. This is thanks to the efforts of Komlan, running the project stateside, and Vincent, the construction manager on location in Togo. Currently, we have invested $19,000 into the project. In addition to all of the generous donations we received, Chatham Financial donated $12,500 to the project.

We appreciate all of the donations that everyone has given to Bike4Beds. The projects and support we provide is only made possible thanks to your generosity.

Nestled in southern Togo lies the village of Hiheatro. The community strives to provide quality education for their children. However, because of limited financial means, the local elementary school stands in severe disrepair.

Bike4Beds leads a group of partners, including local school administration, local contractors, and the nonprofit Friends of Togo, to fund and construct a new primary school for the community and children of Hiheatro.

The school condition presents a safety hazard to students and teachers. Vincent Etoudji, who is the School Director, explains the challenge, “There is no foundation. Crooked tree trunks barely support the rusty corrugated aluminum roof that leaks! The school limits our ability to educate our students and children.”

Thank you for your support
