✨ The Return of Eros and Psyche ✨

Join us for the unveiling of the stunning new sculpture Eros and Psyche on October 9th, 2025 at 5:30 PM at 947 Hamilton Street.

This magnificent piece reimagines the grandeur that once graced Allentown’s historic Rialto Theatre—bringing timeless artistry back into the heart of our city. Let’s celebrate the rich history, creativity, and community spirit that make Downtown West a vibrant hub for the arts.

Presented by Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue, Pat Browne.
We can’t wait to share this moment with you!

In 2024, we proudly partnered with the Heritage Conservation Collective to help restore and preserve some of Allentown’s most iconic public artworks.

After years of planning and coordination, this collaborative effort brought seven beautiful sculptures back to life:

• Seated Woman on Rock – Restored in the Rose Gardens with care and precision.

• Skaters – Cleaned and freed from graffiti to reveal its raw corten steel beauty.

• Father and Child – Gently washed to remove biological growth.

• The Fireman – Treated and waxed to bring out the warmth in its bronze surface.

• Mayor Malcolm W. Gross – Cleaned and buffed, with cracks in the base carefully filled.

• Greece in the New World – Cleaned with soft brushes and biocidal agents.

• Samuel McHose – Graffiti removed, brickwork repaired, and protected with anti-graffiti treatment.

Public art is a cornerstone of our community’s identity—and through this conservation initiative, we’re committed to protecting it for generations to come.

Thank you to our partners and everyone involved in making this happen!

Help shape the future of Downtown Allentown as a thriving center for arts and culture, retail and dining, and so much more! Over the past months, with the leadership of Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and State Senator Nick Miller, a strategic planning process has been unfolding. Nearly 2,000 Allentonians contributed ideas and aspirations in a survey, and dozens more participated in conversations. Now, your opinion is once again crucial to finalize a framework plan for the future of downtown!

On December 10, you're invited to share your passion and insight as part of an open community event. Our partners from Public Sphere Projects will present a draft plan, and ask for your input about how you navigate downtown, where you shop and play, and what you see as priorities for investment.

We promise it will be a thought-provoking, welcoming, and fun evening! And, to make sure there’s something for everyone, we will be providing light refreshments – and plenty of intermissions for salsa dancing!
Refreshments + salsa dancing included!
