Agricultural Education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems. Through agricultural education, students are provided opportunities for leadership development, personal growth and career success. Agricultural education instruction is delivered through three major components:

1) classroom/laboratory instruction (contextual learning)

2) supervised agricultural experience programs (work-based learning)

3) student leadership organizations (National FFA Organization, National

Young Farmer Educational Association, and National Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization). Agricultural education is a systematic program of instruction available to students desiring to learn about the science, business, technology of plant and animal production and/or about the environmental and natural resources systems. Agricultural education first became a part of the public education system in 1917 when the U.S. Today, over 800,000 students participate in formal agricultural education instructional programs offered in grades seven-adult throughout the 50 states and three U.

On Thursday, our members visited Bullock Farms to check out their operation. Members were able to enjoy a hayride, pumpkin picking, and the corn maze. They were also able to learn about the history of the farm and how it has changed over the years to include agritourism. We appreciate allowing our members to visit various aspects of your farm!

Happy Teach AG Day!

Today we celebrate Denise Emmons, whose passion for agricultural education has been part of the Allentown High School community since 2008! From bringing CASE curriculum to her classroom to inspiring students through animal science and FFA, Mrs. Emmons has spent years creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn, lead, and discover their place in agriculture. As the 2024 New Jersey FFA Advisor of the Year, her impact is clearly felt well beyond her classroom. Thank you, Mrs. Emmons, for all you do to teach ag and grow the future!
