Commercial Solar Tour and Information Session at GVSU's Solar Gardens.

Join us for a unique opportunity to learn from the operators of the Allendale Solar Gardens on Tuesday June 16, 2026 at 3pm. Additional education will be provided as part of EAT's Solar 101 series.

Due to limited parking, we ask that multiple people meet ahead at 10259 48th Avenue to walk or car pool together. We highly recommend closed toe shoes and pants and use caution if allergic to bees.

This is a great opportunity that's been in the planning for months so please comment here if you plan to attend!

Come hang out with the EAT team and horticulturist Blake McWatters as he walks us around gorgeous Seidman Park and shares his knowledge of tree identification and local ecosystems.

This walk will include tips on the identification of Michigan trees, habitat, and our wonderful Michigan ecosystems.

Blake is a professional horticulturist and holds a BS in conservation ecology from The University of Michigan. Here, he will give you a great overview on what to look for when learning to identify trees, from habitat to bud shape to branching pattern.

Please meet at the Conservation entrance. Prepare for the weather and conditions, this event will occur rain or shine unless severe weather is forecasted. A notebook, water, and bug spray are recommended.
