Three-year-old Zayden is a funny, spirited little boy who loves bubbles and Bluey. He was recently diagnosed with medulloblastoma and is facing chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.

His mom is a single parent caring for Zayden and his siblings while navigating the financial challenges that come with his treatment. The family has moved in with her parents for additional support, and when their only vehicle recently broke down, getting Zayden safely to treatment became another worry.

Thanks to the generosity of our Big Z community, we were able to step in with support for essential bills and vehicle repairs, giving his mom one less thing to worry about so she can focus on Zayden and his care.

Meet the musician bringing the tunes to Friends of Big Z Happy Hour !

Bill Brooks has been playing guitar and singing since he was 18, performing with four different bands throughout his career. Along the way, his bands have opened for some incredible acts, including Pure Prairie League, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Michael McDonald, Smash Mouth, Spirit, and the Michael Stanley Band.

Bill still performs with his band, but in recent years he’s found a new passion for performing solo, spending his summers traveling through Colorado and New Mexico and playing breweries, wineries, and private events. His set list spans the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and today, so there’s a little something for everyone.

And on September 17, he’s bringing that music to Elke's Market Cafe for Big Z!

Grab some friends, enjoy live music, drinks and appetizers, and spend the evening connecting with the Big Z community, all while supporting families facing catastrophic pediatric illness.

Elke's Market Cafe is proud to partner with Bigzfoundation, established in 2018 in memory of Zach Hoefler who lost his battle with a brain tumor. During Zach's journey, the Hoefler family witnessed firsthand the immense challenges faced by families navigating pediatric illness.

The Bigzfoundation was created to provide immediate and direct support to families during their most difficult times.
