The Anthony D. Turner Scholarship proudly presents awardee - Evan Fossett
Evan is from Frisco Texas. He graduated from Wakeland High School in Frisco Texas, while recieving dual credits at Collin Community College. He will be pursuing a major in Civil Enginnering at Howard University in the fall of 2026.
Evan has been recognized by multiple organizations for his dedication and leadership in volunteer work—mentoring others, assisting those experiencing food insecurity, supporting at-risk and underserved students, aiding unhoused individuals, and organizing school supply distributions.
Alongside his volunteer work, Evan is a National Honor Society member and was the tuba section leader for the Wakeland High School Marching Band. He served as second vice president of the Kappa League and was named a Southwestern Province Kappa League Student of the Year. Evan represented Wakeland at the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference and presented at the Future Community and Career Leaders of America regional competition. He was also selected to attend the National Leadership Conference on architecture at Georgetown University.
Scholarships will be awarded upon submission of proof of enrollment in a STEM degree program at an HBCU for the fall of 2026
