Leadership Allen Class 37 had an incredible Education Day this week!

We kicked off the morning at the STEAM Center, where we heard from David Hicks, Chief Communications Officer for Allen Independent School District, who shared the rich history of the district. The class then enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour led by the amazing STEAM Ambassadors.

Next, we had the opportunity to hear from Superintendent Dr. Robin Bullock, followed by a visit to Kerr Elementary where the class engaged with students and participated in hands-on activities alongside campus leadership. The day also included a stop at Eagle Stadium for a closer look at one of Allen’s most iconic facilities.

We wrapped up the day at Collin College with a presentation from President Dr. Neil Matkin and a tour of the Technical Campus led by Campus Provost Dr. Brenden Mesch.

A huge thank you to our session sponsors, Allen Independent School District and Collin College, and to our Class 37 Presenting Sponsor, Community Waste Disposal. We appreciate your continued support in making these impactful leadership experiences possible! 👏

Kicking off our Allen History, Government & City Services Day with Leadership Allen Class 37 and our incredible Presenting Sponsor, CWD—thank you to Robert Medigovich for helping start the day strong!

We had an amazing lineup of community leaders who gave the class a behind-the-scenes look at how Allen operates, including Rebecca Vice. Asst. City Manager, Pete Phillis, CFO, and Jason Cooley, Allen CDC Director. A big thank you as well to Raymon Yarborough and his team from Community Services, along with Brandy O’Keefe, Allen CVB Director, for sharing their expertise and passion for our community.

The class explored the Allen Emergency Communications Center and enjoyed a tour of Allen Fire Station #1 led by Chief Nolen—a definite highlight of the day!

We wrapped up at the Allen Public Library, where Tom Keener, our favorite local historian, brought Allen’s rich history to life.

Another impactful day learning, connecting, and growing together as leaders in our community!

On behalf of Leadership Allen Class 37, Team A, you and your families are cordially invited to attend the Kick-Off Event for Allen’s Pollinator Pathway initiative, to be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Allen Senior Recreation Center!

Allen’s Pollinator Pathway initiative seeks to expand pollinator-friendly habitats across the community by establishing native-plant pollinator gardens in visible public spaces and by equipping families to create their own at-home “micro-habitats” through free pollinator garden starter kits. Together, these efforts will form a connected network of pollinator-supportive environments - “steppingstones” that benefit bees, butterflies, moths, birds, and other vital species - while fostering hands-on environmental stewardship among residents of all ages.

The Kick-Off Event will mark the official launch of this community-wide effort. The program will include a ceremonial groundbreaking for the inaugural pollinator garden planted by Leadership Allen, family-friendly educational activities, and the distribution of pollinator starter kits.

This event is presented by the Allen Community Development Corporation.

As we prepare to move into our new Chamber office, we’re packing up our current space and making a few changes along the way.

For many years, members have shared business cards, flyers, magazines, and promotional materials in our lobby for visitors to browse—thank you to everyone who has participated!

If you currently have materials displayed in our lobby, please plan to pick them up no later than Wednesday, March 25. After that date, any remaining items will need to be cleared out as we transition to the new space.

While our new office won’t have room for a lobby display area moving forward, we truly appreciate the many members who have used this benefit over the years.

Thank you for helping us make the move a smooth one!
