6 counties. 1 city. Countless neighbors helped. ❤️

Since launching, the Care Closet has provided assistance to families in Allegany and Washington counties (MD), Fulton County (PA), Preston, Lewis, and Upshur counties (WV), and the City of Lynchburg, VA.

We've also been in contact with families in other counties and jurisdictions. While not every request has required direct assistance, we're grateful to be a resource whenever and wherever we're needed.

Thank you to everyone who supports this mission. Together, we're helping firefighters, first responders, and the communities they serve. 🚒🤝

Today was a humbling reminder of why the Community Care Closet exists. 💜

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors and supporters, volunteers loaded up a trailer and traveled to Lewis and Upshur Counties, West Virginia, to deliver much-needed supplies to families impacted by the recent flooding.

Our journey included stops at the Buckhannon Fire Department, the donation center at West Virginia Wesleyan College, the Lewis County Senior Center, the Weston Vol. Fire Department, and the donation center at the former Kroger in Weston. Along the way, we delivered essential supplies, including pet food and cat litter, and met countless volunteers working tirelessly to help their neighbors recover.

For many of us, driving through these communities brought back memories of the devastating flooding that impacted our own region in May 2025. We know firsthand the challenges of rebuilding after a disaster, which made it even more meaningful to stand alongside our neighbors during their time of need.

The Community Care Closet has evolved into something much bigger than we ever imagined. What started as a way to help local families has grown into a mission of serving communities wherever there is a need. Whether it's neighbors helping neighbors, firefighters helping firefighters, or one small town lending a hand to another, we're grateful to be in a position to help.

Every donation made to the Community Care Closet made today's mission possible. Whether you donated supplies, made a financial contribution, or volunteered your time, you were part of this effort. Your kindness traveled across state lines and reminded people that they are not alone.

Recovery doesn't happen overnight, and no community should have to face it alone. We're thankful for everyone who continues to support this mission. Together, we're proving that compassion has no county lines, no state borders, and no limits.

Our Community Care Closet has been blessed with an abundance of donated supplies. This Sunday, we'll be taking some of our overstock cleaning supplies, household items, and other essential resources directly to our neighbors impacted by the devastating flooding in Lewis and Upshur Counties, West Virginia.

We've been in contact with partners in Lewis County and are continuing coordination with officials in Upshur County to ensure these donations go where they are needed most.

While we encourage everyone to donate through Mineral County Emergency Management whenever possible, we will have a limited amount of room in our trailer for additional donations from our community.

Thanks to your generosity, the entire tote of cleaning supplies and salvage materials was recently delivered to a local family affected by a house fire.

Because of your continued support of the Care Closet Initiative, we're able to provide immediate assistance to families during some of their most difficult moments.

As previously shared, we've also been in contact with another recent fire victim and stand ready to assist if the family chooses to request support.

Thank you for helping us make a difference in our community. 🩵

The smallest member of the Care Closet crew was so excited to have mail again! We’re incredibly thankful for the sweet donor who went above and beyond our wish list and helped restock our shelves.

This truly is a team effort, and while some contributions happen quietly behind the scenes, please know they are seen and deeply appreciated. We are forever grateful for every hand that helps make this possible.
