Hi everyone!

We are incredibly thankful for the continued support of the Community Care Closet and everyone who participated in the specialty drink fundraiser at this year's annual convention.

We wanted to provide a quick update: at this time, we are no longer accepting clothing donations. Our storage space is limited, and thanks to the generosity of our community, we are currently well stocked.

As specific needs arise, we will post requests for needed items on our page. Until then, we ask that you hold off on making additional donations.

Thank you again for your support of this important program. 🩵

Help support the Care Closet! 🩵

Join us for the After Party in the Park following the Allegany Garrett Counties Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association Convention parade, hosted by Potomac Fire Company No.2 Inc.

Saturday June 6th! Drinks will be setup starting at 5 PM - Party Ends!

Come enjoy sausages, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, soda, and specialty drinks from Sip Happens Pour Decisions — featuring dirty sodas, specialty lemonades, sweets, and more!

Most importantly, a portion of drink proceeds will support The Care Closet the emergency services resource supported by the Association, helping provide needed items to those who serve our communities.

Great food. Cold drinks. Good company. Support a great cause. We hope to see you there! 🚒❤️

The smallest member of the Care Closet crew was so excited to have mail again! We’re incredibly thankful for the sweet donor who went above and beyond our wish list and helped restock our shelves.

This truly is a team effort, and while some contributions happen quietly behind the scenes, please know they are seen and deeply appreciated. We are forever grateful for every hand that helps make this possible.

The Care Closet is so grateful to have been able to support a family of three—two adults and one infant. We were able to provide much-needed essentials, including hygiene items and larger items like a baby play mat.

Thank you to everyone who helped ensure this family was cared for. A special thank you to Tiffany for stepping in to gather specific needed items and for being there tonight.

Our team is incredibly thankful for the amazing people who make this all possible. đź’›

Tonight our volunteers picked up a large donation from Total Biz Fulfillment and spent the evening sorting items at our Cumberland location. A special thank you to John Harr for the use of the trailer to help transport everything.

Helping tonight were Tim and Diana Dayton, Addy Dayton, Chase Amen, John Harr, Tiffany King, and Shawn Dicken. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to sort a large portion of the donated clothing, and the shelves are starting to fill up.

We know many of you have asked about making donations. At this time, we ask that you please message us. Our storage space is limited, and right now most clothing storage and needs are filled. Unfortunately, we simply cannot accept all donations at this time. With that said clothing wise 2T to Kids Size 14 are the most needed items.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this initiative and help our community. đź’™

Tonight, we officially moved in — paving the way for the groundbreaking of Site Two of the Care Closet. 🙌

Yes, yes… we know we still owe you that ribbon cutting — it’s coming soon!

We’re excited to now have space at the Baltimore Pike Volunteer Fire Company, which allows us to better serve the eastern end of Allegany County and Washington County. Our Rawlings Volunteer Fire Department location will continue covering Southern Allegany County, Garrett County, and Mineral County, WV.

While those are our primary hubs, our mission goes beyond county lines — this expansion simply gives us quicker and easier access to the items families need most.

A huge thank you to LaVale Volunteer Rescue Squad for the generous donation of shelving, and to John Harr, Chase Aman, Bev Collins, and Tim Iman for spending the evening helping with setup, placement, and organizing. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Additional items are on the way!

And a reminder: this is not just a resource for fire victims. It’s here for first responders and families who need a helping hand — no questions asked. It’s there to serve you. 💛

Today we were contacted by one of our local departments that provided mutual aid on a house fire in the early hours of this morning. There were two immediate needs for two children who survived the fire.

While we wish we could do more, we are truly grateful and blessed to have been able to help both children, even in a small way, during such a difficult time. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they begin to rebuild. ❤️
