Compass Bible Church At Compass Bible Church we are called to make disciples of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20). At CBC, it is our intention that...
1. The Bible is Central.
2.

Compass Bible Church is a team of disciples committed to the centrality of God’s word, expository preaching, a high view of God, a biblical gospel, a reliance on prayer, highly committed participants, authentic and sacrificial leaders, and the planting of more churches that value the same. We showcase expository preaching.
3. We seek to maintain a high view of God.
4. We work to proclaim a biblical gospel.
5. We have a genuine reliance on prayer.
6. We have highly committed participants.
7. We will look to authentic and sacrificial leaders.
8. We will always be working to plant new churches.

The Christian life is not easy, and Jesus told us to expect trials. In James, we discover what God is accomplishing through them. Testing is not a sign that God has abandoned us; rather, it is his sovereign means of maturing us and equipping us to do his will.

In this new six-part series through James 1:1–18 beginning Oct. 3-4, Pastor Mike Fabarez will show us how to stand firm on the proving grounds that test our faith and hold fast to the goodness of God when life gets rough.

Our Proving Grounds (part 1)
Finding Joy in God’s Unanticipated Plans (James 1:1-2)
Oct. 3-4

Our Proving Grounds (part 2)
Taking Hold of the Good in God’s Purpose (James 1:3-4)

Our Proving Grounds (part 3)
Rightly Praying for What We Need Most (James 1:5-8)
