COATS COATS COATS!
A big thank you to Inde Patterson and her sisters for their tireless work on behalf of One Warm Coat. Inde and her sisters Trinity and Elli went door to door collecting new and gently worn coats to be distributed to men, women and children in need. They chose the Franklin Center of Beaver County, Inc. as the point for distribution!
If you are in need of a coat, please call the Franklin Center at 724-378-2882 or the Professional Outfitters store in New Brighton at 724-846-2000 for an appointment.
You must make an appointment to receive a coat!
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we are not able to accept walk-ins at this time.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to adding just a little warmth to this otherwise dreary winter.

Following up on the highly successful Borrowing for Higher Education webinar series, PHEAA's PAForward Student Loan Program is offering a new series of Financial Aid Assistance webinars entitled Understanding the Financial Offer and Balances (the award letter) and Covering the Gap. OFA Webinar: Intimate Partner Violence in the Time of COVID-19: TANF's Vital Role in Prevention
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Office of Family Assistance will host a webinar on October 28, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET.

A subject matter expert and a TANF program practitioner will share insights and recommendations for leveraging TANF to provide support to intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors during COVID-19 and beyond. In this webinar, speakers will highlight the four types of behavior associated with IPV; the relationship between socioeconomic status and increased occurrence of IPV among TANF recipients; ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated risk factors for IPV among TANF populations; and program policies, budget strategies, and partnerships TANF programs can adopt to support TANF recipients experiencing IPV. Speakers will answer audience questions to assist other state and tribal programs in developing and improving their own TANF responses to COVID-19 and IPV.

Speakers will include Marium Durrani, Director of Policy, National Resource Center on Domestic Violence and Janet Mickish, Manager, Colorado Department of Human Services. Jessica R. Kendall, Senior Manager, Family Specialist, ICF will facilitate the webinar.

Aliquippa Residents:
Please be advised that we have been experiencing significant water loss since Friday afternoon. This morning we found a significant water leak on the 16 inch main system feed from the plant at the intersection of Superior Avenue and Sheffield Avenue. This leak never surfaced and was draining into the stormwater system. The leak has now been isolated and crews are on the scene to make necessary repairs.
For those that may have an interruption in water service, bottled water is available at the water plant from 8am to 8pm. A water buffalo is also available at the water plant. We apologize for any inconveniences and thank you for your patience during this time.
