Would your smoke alarms wake you up tonight?

This week, we’re asking everyone to TEST YOUR ALARMS!

✅ Test every smoke alarm
✅ Test your carbon monoxide alarms
✅ Check the batteries
✅ Make sure alarms are in the proper locations
✅ Never disable an alarm because of nuisance alarms

It’s Fire Prevention Month!!! Your Alice Firefighters will be working hard this month educating the community on Fire Safety. This year we have a weekly challenge. Complete the challenge each week for a chance at a swag bag of AFD gear, gift cards, and safety supplies. Drawings will be held weekly with a Surprise Grand Prize at the end of week 4. Every week you complete the challenge your name is entered into the Grand Prize drawing.

Fire prevention starts at home! This week, we’re challenging you to take a walk through your home and find 3 potential fire hazards.

Look for things like:
🍳 Unattended cooking
🔌 Overloaded outlets
🕯️ Unattended candles
🔥 Combustibles near heaters
🚬 Improperly discarded smoking materials

Today is the 25th Anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on America. In remembrance the children of Alice will be visited by a parade of first responders at each elementary. This is just a quick reminder to our community that our responders are here and ready to serve our residents and a great way for the children to recognize our local responders and pay tribute to the responders that gave their lives for our country that day.

Another great Friday morning at an Alice ISD campus. We enjoyed the kids, staff, and parents at Noonan Elementary. Having safe schools, and great performing schools involves an entire community. Hope everyone has a great Friday! Alice Independent School District

PUBLIC ALERT: Alice Firefighters are currently working to extinguish a large structure fire in the area of King and 5th Streets. The department is actively working with 5 other fire departments that were requested to assist. Law Enforcement is in the area assisting with traffic control. Please stay clear of the area while responders work the incident. The cause is still unknown, crews are currently working to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.

First Friday of the school year! We were happy to visit our “A” rated Alice High School to greet students, staff, and parents as they started their day. We hope the high fives and fist bumps helped start their day with smiles. We were also able to grab a quick pic with the Deans and Principals. Congratulations to everyone at AHS on the “A” rating!!! A just goes great with Alice.
