As some of you may have heard, Sau Can Tho will be closing later this year. This news is especially bittersweet for me. My family has been visiting their restaurant since I was a kid, and for every special occasion, there was one dish we always came back for: their legendary Vietnamese baked catfish.
If you’ve never had this dish, it can look a little intimidating at first. You eat it with your hands, wrapping fresh herbs, noodles, and fish into rice paper, much like spring rolls. But once you understand the rhythm of it, it becomes playful, communal, and deeply satisfying.
To honor this dish and the memories tied to it, we’ll be hosting a one-day special event where we’ll:
Teach you how to properly wrap the rolls
Share a bit of the history and cultural significance behind the dish
Enjoy the meal family-style, together
Instead of ordering an entire catfish for a group, we’ll be offering individual seats, so everyone can participate and share this experience around the table.
This is a chance to celebrate a beloved restaurant, pass on a tradition, and enjoy a meal that’s meant to be shared. If you’ve ever loved Sau Can Tho or have always been curious about this dish, we’d love to have you join us. 🍃🐟
